The disclosed instrument includes not only a compass, but also a laser for the emission of a laser beam arranged to define, together with the laser beam, a direction to a point at a distance from the instrument. The compass housing and the laser are mounted in an instrument housing such that the laser is arranged to emit a laser beam parallel to the direction in which the compass is pointing. The compass housing is a separate unit that can be ejected from and inserted into a cavity in the instrument housing from one of its ends. Opposing grooves are arranged in the cavity in order to position the compass housing in the instrument housing. A lock arrangement is present to lock the compass housing fixed in the instrument housing.

Compass with laser pointer

A diameter measuring instrument that comprises a straight-edge and two legs or jaws, wherewith the distance between the legs can be read-off. The invention is characterized in that the straightedge () is provided with a leg () which is fixed in relation to the straightedge and a leg () which is movable relative to the straightedge, or alternatively with two legs that are movable relative to the straightedge; in that each leg () includes a laser () which is designed to emit a visible laser beam () in a direction that coincides with the length direction of respective legs (); and in that the laser beams () are parallel to one another.

Means for measuring a diameter

A caliper-like instrument for measuring tree diameters, includes a straightedge on which there is placed a first leg and a second leg. The instrument further includes a recording unit adjacent the first leg for recording and storing tree diameter measurements. The first leg is fixedly placed along the straightedge, and the second leg projects out from a slide displaceable along the straightedge, with the legs and the straightedge located in mutually the same plane. The first leg can be lowered in the plane and is pivotally fastened to an attachment on the straightedge, and the second leg can be lowered in the plane and is pivotally attached to the slide. The first leg has a first fastener intended to be hooked into the attachment and the second leg has a second fastener intended to be hooked into the slide.

Diameter measuring instrument

An electronic measuring tape that includes a roller onto which the measuring tape is arranged to be wound up onto and wound out from through the roller being rotated, a first end of the measuring tape is attached in the roller, and where the roller is located inside a housing. A rolled up measuring tape is arranged in loops on the roller. All loops are in direct contact with the surface of the roller, an angle sensor is arranged at the roller to record an angle of rotation during rotation of the roller. An electronic circuit converts the angle of rotation into a length that corresponds to the length by which the measuring tape has been withdrawn from the housing, and the measuring tape records absolute values.
