Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an automatic pipetting system for transferring liquid from dispensing vessels into at least one receiving vessel. In one example embodiment, the system includes a movable pipettor moveable along an x-direction. The pipettor including an arm including two beams and a base structure, and at least one pipetting module. The base structure is movable in the x-direction, and is coupled to the two beams. The two beams oriented parallel to one another and project horizontally in the y-direction. The at least one pipetting module is moveable along each of the two beams in a y-direction and includes at least one hollow needle lowerable in to the dispensing vessels and the receiving vessels. Wherein the at least one pipetting modules move independently past one another on mutually facing longitudinal sides of said beams.

Pipetting device and method for the transfer of fluids

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to, for example, an optical measurement unit for obtaining measurement signals from liquid media which are present in cuvettes lined up next to one another. In one embodiment, the optical measurement unit includes a light-supplying unit for emitting an inlet radiation into the cuvettes, and a detection unit for detecting a measurement radiation exiting from the cuvettes and for converting the measurement radiation into an electrical measurement signal. In such an embodiment, the light-supplying unit has a plurality of LED light sources which emit in a spectrally different manner in the UV/VIS/NIR wavelength range, and wherein the detection unit includes at least one photodiode fixedly assigned to each cuvette of a cuvette array.

A sample input device for transferring liquid samples, typically blood samples, from sample containers, typically syringes, into analyzer devices for examining the composition of the samples, wherein the sample input device comprises retention elements for at least partly keeping particulate components of the sample from passing over from the sample container into the analyzer, and wherein the sample input device further contains at least one ventilation device that allows ventilating the sample container while transferring the sample from the sample container into the analyzer, typically when aspirating the sample via the analyzer.

A sample entry device is provided comprising a single plug-in site for automated input of medical samples, typically samples of body fluids, or quality control media, from diverse sample vessels. Sample transport containers are provided in the entry device, each having a cannula that can be inserted both through an opening into an open sample vessel and through a penetrable lid element into a closed sample vessel, and the entry device is provided with guiding elements, which will grip the cannula of the sample transport container to guide and center the cannula before it is inserted into the sample vessel or punctures it.
