The present invention relates to a method for recharging an energy store () used to drive a power semiconductor switch (), wherein the energy store () and the power semiconductor switch () are at the same potential, wherein a switching state of the power semiconductor switch () is effected by a controller (), wherein the controller () assigns a respective potential value to the energy store () at a respective switching state () and wherein, by driving at least one charging switch (), charging of the energy store () is activated as soon as the potential value of the energy store () corresponds to a ground potential of a supply voltage ().

Recharging circuit for modular multilevel converters

A method controls switching states of a multi-level converter with multiple modules. Each module has: terminals on a first and second side; controllable switches; and an energy store in series with a first switch in a first connection between the terminals. A second switch is arranged in a connection between the terminals. The control of the switching states is divided into a real-time and offline part. In the real-time part, for each time step: a voltage level is allocated to a voltage requirement; a total switching state is determined in a first switching table for the voltage level; and the total switching state is passed on as a control signal to the switches. In the offline part: a second switching table is calculated, resulting in accordance with a minimization of a cost function.

Control of modular multilevel series/parallel converters (MMSPC) by means of switching tables and continuous background optimisation thereof

A method is provided for producing a slot base insulation in a stator (), wherein the stator () is part of an electrical machine and is constructed from a ferromagnetic material. The stator () is provided with at least one slot () to fit a winding wire () in the at least one slot (). The at least one slot () is coated with a soft-magnetic insulation material. A stator () also is provided with the slot base insulation.

A stator () for an electric machine () has stator laminations () stacked in an axial direction (A) to form a stator lamination stack (). An energy store () has at least three energy storage sections (u, v, w) and at least two switching elements. Each energy storage sections (u, v, w) has multiple energy storage modules and each energy storage module has at least one energy storage element that receives and stores energy from an energy source (). The energy store () is connected to a first coil () so that a voltage induced in the first coil () is used to charge the energy storage elements. The energy store () is matched to properties of the voltage provided by the first coil () by switching the switching elements. As a result, the energy storage modules of an energy storage section (u, v, w) are connected in parallel and/or in series with one another and/or at least one energy storage module of at least one energy storage section (u, v, w) is bypassed.

Method and apparatus for charging an energy store

A method for charging an energy store that has at least three energy storage strings each having plural energy storage modules. The energy storage modules have at least one energy storage element that receives and stores energy from an energy source and at least two switching elements. The energy store is connected to an energy source that provides a charging voltage and to an electric machine, and the energy storage modules are supplied with energy by the energy source. A DC voltage source and/or an AC voltage source are used in a selectable manner as energy source and the energy store is matched to properties of the selected energy source by switching the switching elements. Thus, the energy storage modules of a string are connected in parallel and/or in series with one another and/or at least one energy storage module of at least one energy storage string is bypassed.

The invention relates to a method and system for electronic current control for a flexible DC battery pack, in which the battery pack has a plurality of flexibly interconnectable modules having a respective energy store and at least two respective controllable switches and the modules are electrically connected to one another to form a section having a first and a second section end and the two section ends are connected to a respective high-voltage connection, in which the at least two switches of a respective module interrupt a battery current I or interconnect the respective energy store at least in series or parallel with or to bypass the respective energy store of the respectively adjacent module, in which the flexible interconnection of the modules is controlled by a battery control unit and hence a prescribed DC voltage V is provided.

Method and system for electronic current control for a flexible DC battery

A sensor apparatus () is provided for measuring direct and alternating currents through a conductor (). Distortion spectrum control by space vector modulation

A method and a charging circuit are provided for flexible bootstrapping in power electronics circuits. The charging circuit includes a blocking diode, at least one bootstrap transistor, at least one resistor and at least one electrical component that is designed to conduct a current flow when a predetermined potential difference is exceeded. An energy storage device used for controlling a power semiconductor switch and a source/emitter potential of the power semiconductor switch are at the same potential. Charging of the energy storage device is effected as soon as the potential of a supply voltage is above a potential of the energy storage device. Overcharging is prevented as soon as the predetermined potential difference in the electrical component is exceeded, and discharging of the energy storage device is prevented by the blocking diode.

Flexible bootstrapping for power electronics circuits

Mechanical and electrical connection is established between a power-electronics structural element and a circuit board. The circuit board has a bore and an electrical contact area encircles the bore. The power-electronics structural element has a mechanical fastening option and an electrical contact area encircles this fastening option at a point to be connected to the circuit board. A cylinder with a head on one end is inserted into the bore of the circuit board to achieve the mechanical connection, and a sleeve formed from an electrically conductive material surrounds the cylinder. Electrical contact areas of the power-electronics structural element and the circuit board are connected electrically by the sleeve. The mechanical connection is formed by an interlocking connection of the cylinder and the fastening option of the power-electronics structural element.

Method and sleeve for connecting power-electronics structural elements and printed circuit boards

A battery system () has at least one battery () with a plurality of battery elements (, n), a regulating or control unit () and a switching unit () with at least one switching element (). The regulating or control unit () is configured to instruct the switching unit () to dynamically switch the at least one switching element () over time such that battery elements (, n) from at least one accordingly dynamically changing subset of the plurality of battery elements (, n) are connected, and a respective voltage level to be provided is provided thereby for the plurality of load consumers. In addition to providing a plurality of voltage levels, the battery elements (, n) are deliberately loaded.

Battery system with battery control

Prior art electronic power supplies having distributed energy stores and/or the possibility to dynamically modify the connectivity of individual stores require complex monitoring of the input and output currents to and from the individual energy stores, often using a multitude of sensors, in order to allow for unrestricted operation. Examples of such power supplies include in particular modular multilevel converters and switched-capacitor circuits. The preen invention describes a possibility to determine the states of charge and energy levels of the energy stores using a small number of measuring systems.

Electronic circuit for easier operation of multilevel converters

An apparatus for electrical power supplies and electrical storage systems. While conventional storage systems, for example batteries, offer very limited electrical properties, for example DC voltage with a voltage which is prespecified by the battery design and the state of charge, the apparatus disclosed herein can deliver virtually any desired current and voltage profiles within certain limits, for example a maximum voltage and a maximum current, without the need for a separate power-electronics converter circuit. At the same time, the apparatus can not only output but also receive energy in virtually any desired form and charge its integrated electrical energy stores, for example capacitors, batteries, rechargeable batteries and the like, while maintaining prespecified charging properties, for example specific current and voltage profiles or power output profiles over time (for example constant, increasing with a specific profile or falling with a specific profile).

Electrical energy storage system

A battery system () has a battery () for providing a first voltage and has at least one tap () that divides the battery () into at least one first battery element () for providing a first partial voltage and at least one second battery element () for providing a second partial voltage. A power changeover switch () is arranged between the at least one first battery element () and the at least one second battery element () and is designed to change over between the at least one first battery element () and the at least one second battery element () at a changeover rate to be specified.
