The invention provides for exchanging a complete luminous unit () instead of exchanging the individual components such as a battery (). For this purpose, at least one energy-saving light-emitting diode () as luminous means, a battery () and a magnetically actuable reed contact () serving as switching element are combined as luminous unit (). The use of a cost-effective light-emitting diode () and a battery () formed in space-saving fashion in accordance with the low power demand of the light-emitting diode () permits a compact configuration of the luminous unit (). The fact that the luminous unit () can be inserted into the floating body () as a unit and can be exchanged as a unit obviates a complicated battery change or change of luminous means entailing the risk of leaks.

A device as provided for the inflation of a container or a floating body of an item of lifesaving equipment with compressed gas. A compressed gas container sealed with the aid of a diaphragm is provided which, within the region of the container neck, possesses an external thread that can be screwed into a receiving aperture in a housing which is provided with a corresponding internal thread. The gas content of the container is released by opening the diaphragm with the aid of an opening striker disposed in the housing, which can be moved against the diaphragm by a hand lever and/or by the force of a spring. An indicating part indicates the screwing-in state of the compressed gas container, i.e., whether the compressed gas container is screwed-in so far into the receiving aperture that reliable operation of the device is guaranteed. The indicating part is displaced by the compressed gas container as it is screwed into the receiving aperture of the housing, from an initial position, and is supported by a spring element on the housing against a displacement from the initial position.

An inflating device, more particularly for life jackets, includes a cartridge filled with pressure gas, which possesses a neck sealed with a diaphragm, and a cutter which, in the event of a release, penetrates with a sharp or pointed bottom portion the membrane on the cartridge. A releasing means, in the event of a release, acts upon the cutter with a force for penetrating the diaphragm. The diaphragm is distinguished by a simplified construction, which in particular permits the employment of a greatly simplified and very inexpensive cutter. It is proposed that the cutter be movably accommodated in a disposable part separated from the releasing means. The disposable part is rigidly connected with the cartridge and, together with the cartridge, can be detachably inserted into the releasing means.

The gas content of the container (11) is released by opening the diaphragm (14) with the aid of an opening striker (24) disposed in the housing which may possibly be movable by means of a hand lever and by the force of a spring element against the diaphragm (14). The spring element in a pretensioned position, is retained with the aid of an automatic element (35) that loses its solidity in water. The pressure gas container (11) can be screwed into the receiving aperture (15) of the housing while simultaneously pretensioning the spring element.

The gas content of a compressed gas container sealed with the aid of a diaphragm, is released by opening the diaphragm with an opening striker disposed in a housing. A lever drive comprising a swiveling lever possessing an intermediate member upon which a hand lever also acts, engages the opening striker to place the device reliably into operation. The swiveling lever is two-armed and swivelable about an axis of rotation that is integral with the housing. A first arm of the swiveling lever is supported upon a spring with its free end, and a second arm of the swiveling lever is supported on a housing stop. The second arm is supportable with its free end upon an automatic element. The intermediate member is two-armed and swivelable about an axis of rotation that is integral with the housing. A first arm of the intermediate member can be made to rest against a housing edge and, with the free end of the first arm of the intermediate member, the opening striker is acted upon.
