In order to control the cut register of a web () in a web-fed rotary press, a pulling device (Z) which transports the web () is changed with regard to its circumferential speed.

Method and apparatus for controlling the cut register of a web-fed rotary press

To control the cutting register of a web in a web-fed rotary press with little expenditure, a specific item of image information or a measuring mark of a printed web is registered by at least one sensor. The sensor generates a registration signal which is supplied to a control device. The registration of the image information or measuring marks is carried out immediately before or on a knife cylinder. A cutting register error is determined from the registration information and the position of the knife cylinder is influenced to correct the determined cutting register error.

In order to control the cut register in multi-web operation in a web-fed press and to control the web tension in a web section, image information or measuring marks from printed webs and web tensions in different web sections are registered by sensors and supplied to a control device. To correct the cut register error of at least one web, either the speed of at least one clamping point located before the knife cylinder and/or the position of the knife cylinder and, to correct the web tension, the speed of at least one further clamping point is changed, so that the actual value of the part and/or total cut register error of at least one web and the at least one web tension arc corrected to the associated predefined set points.

To control the cut register of a web in a web-fed rotary press and to control the web tension decoupled from the control of the cut register, a specific item of image information or measuring marks of the printed web are registered by at least one sensor and the web tension is registered by at least one further sensor. The deviation of the position of the printed image with respect to its intended position, based on the location and time of the cut, is determined from the item of image information and is therefore available as actual values and supplied to a control device. The cut register error and the web tension can be influenced in a manner decoupled from each other.

Method and apparatus for controlling the web tension and the cut register of a web-fed rotary press

A cylinder for a printing press is adjusted away from a printing stock web or an adjacent cylinder by rotation of an eccentric element. The change in position caused by the movement of the eccentric element is compensated by an additional rotating movement superposed on the rotating movement of the cylinder such that the outer surface of the cylinder has no relative velocity relative to the adjacent cylinder or the printing stock web. Compensation is carried out by a regulating circuit to which is supplied the actual rotational angle of the cylinder with respect to the eccentric element and the actual rotational angle of the eccentric element with respect to the side wall or an angular function derived therefrom.
