A cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine may include a hollow-cylindrical liner body, which may have an inner circumferential surface including a first axial portion and a second axial portion. The first axial portion may open at a first opening angle towards the second axial portion. The second axial portion may open at a second opening angle away from the first axial portion. The second opening angle may be greater than the first opening angle. A first surface roughness in the first axial portion may be greater than a second surface roughness in the second axial portion. A plateau aspect in the second axial portion, which may be defined as R3p=Rvk/(Rpk+Rk), may be 0.2 to 1.6. A texture height in the second axial portion, which may be defined as R3k=Rpk+Rk+Rvk, may be 0.4 &#x3bc;m or less.

Cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine

A cylindrical sleeve for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The cylindrical sleeve includes a hollow cylindrical sleeve body, extending along an axial direction, with an inner peripheral side that has, along the axial direction, a first axial portion and a second axial portion. The inner peripheral side in the first axial portion is either cylindrical or opens at a first opening angle towards the second axial portion. The second axial portion opens at a second opening angle away from the first axial portion that is greater than the first opening angle. A first surface roughness of the inner peripheral side in the first axial portion is greater than a second surface roughness in the second axial portion.

A cylinder bore for a cylinder housing of an internal combustion engine may have a cylinder running surface, an upper reversal point and a lower reversal point at which a piston, which may be moved up and down in the cylinder bore and may have piston rings and a piston skirt, may reach a speed which approaches zero during engine operation. The cylinder bore may also have a region between the upper reversal point and the lower reversal point at which the piston may reach a maximum speed during engine operation. The cylinder bore may further have at least two circumferential depressions formed within the region, the at least two circumferential depressions each having a diameter that may be greater than a diameter of the cylinder bore above the region and below the region.

A cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine may have a running surface, in which by honing directed honing grooves may be introduced. The running surface may have a first region and a second region, wherein the first region may have a roughness that may be distinct from a roughness of the second region. A transition between the first region and the second region may proceed obliquely to a cylinder longitudinal axis at least in some portions. At least some of the honing grooves at the transition between the first region and the second region are uninterrupted.

A cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine may include an aluminum alloy material including a magnesium content of at least 0.3% by weight, a liner body having a circumferential face, and an adapter layer of silicon oxide disposed on the circumferential face. The adapter layer may include at least one of a potassium oxide content and a sodium oxide content of greater than or equal to 0% by weight.

Method for producing a cast component with an insert

A cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine may include an outer circumferential surface defined by the cylinder liner composed of a gray cast iron for integrally casting onto a cast material of an engine block. A bonding component may be included for strengthening a bond of the outer circumferential surface to the cast material of the engine block. The bonding component may include at least one of a wire mesh and a wire grid that does not melt during a casting operation of the engine block. The bonding component may be arranged at least in a predefined region on the outer circumferential surface. The bonding component may be welded at least partially to the outer circumferential surface.

A method for producing a cast component may include providing an insert part including an insert body having a circumferential face; coating the circumferential face with an adapter layer made of silicon oxide; arranging the insert part in a casting mold; and positively locking a casting encapsulation of the insert part and the adapter layer with an aluminum alloy to produce the cast component, wherein the aluminum alloy has a magnesium proportion of at least 0.3% by weight.

A method for producing a cylinder liner surface for a cylinder crankcase of an internal combustion engine has the following method steps: (a) preliminary honing of the inner surface of a cylinder liner consisting of a cast iron material to form depressions in the surface; (b) application of a coating material containing zinc to the honed surface; (c) final honing of the coated surface in such a way that the coating material containing zinc remains only in the depressions formed by the preliminary honing.
