A multiband loop antenna includes a first, electrically conductive, L-shaped partial structure on a first layer of a printed circuit board. The first partial structure has a first resonant frequency and a feed point of the antenna. The multiband loop antenna includes a second, electrically conductive, L-shaped partial structure on the first layer of the circuit board. The second partial structure is configured for a second resonant frequency. The first partial structure and the second partial structure are capacitively coupled to one another in a coupling region. The multiband loop antenna includes an electrically conductive first reference region. The first partial structure and the second partial structure are disposed on the first layer of the circuit board in such a way that they form a loop together with the first reference region. A household appliance including a communication unit having the multiband loop antenna is also provided.

The radar signals are emitted, and radar signals reflected off of target objects are received and checked for irregularities. In order to produce a planar antenna array in a radar sensor with a multitude of microstrip feeder lines and a multitude of coupling slots for emitting microwave energy into open space, which achieves a favorable antenna efficiency when embodied in a planar design using LTCC technology, the invention proposes embodying the feeder lines and the coupling slots in a multilayer ceramic substrate produced by means of the LTCC thick layer technique with an upper and a lower grounded layer, as well as enclosing the feeder lines and the coupling slots with plated-through contacts from the upper grounded layer to the lower one.

A device is proposed for ascertaining distance and transmitting data in a motor vehicle. It has a transmitting arrangement for generating and emitting a radar signal. A receiving arrangement receives a radar signal. It is characterized in that switchover arrangements are provided which cause the transmitting and/or receiving arrangement to operate either in a radar operating mode for detecting the distance and/or speed of a further object, or in a data-exchange operating mode for the exchange of data with a transceiver. Specific functions are enabled in dependence on the data exchange.
