A method for manufacturing a tool head includes forming a first and a second part from a powder composition. The first and the second parts include corresponding joining surfaces, and the parts have outer surface portions configured to form portions of a peripheral envelope surface of the tool head. The method further includes forming corresponding grooves in the corresponding joining surfaces, assembling the parts into a shape of a tool head by bringing the joining surfaces into contact to form an interface, so that each pair of corresponding grooves forms a channel extending in the interface, the channel having an inlet opening in a rear end of the tool head and an outlet opening in a front end or in the peripheral envelope surface of the tool head, and joining the assembled parts in a sintering operation to form the tool head.

Method for manufacturing a tool head

A tool for rotary cutting machining includes a tool body and a replaceable cutting head detachably attachable to the tool body. The cutting head has a coupling portion which is receivable in a space between two axially projecting coupling legs of the tool body. Cylindrical internal gripping surfaces are arranged in said space and designed for engagement with corresponding cylindrical external gripping surfaces of the cutting head. The gripping surfaces of the cutting head and the gripping surfaces of the tool body are dimensioned so as to prevent, by engagement with each other, the cutting head from being displaced in axial direction away from the tool body when the cutting head is attached to the tool body. A tool body and a cutting head included in such a tool are also disclosed.

Tool, tool body and cutting head

A tool for rotary cutting machining includes a tool body and a replaceable cutting head detachably attachable to the tool body. At its front end, the tool body is provide with two coupling legs projecting in an axial direction. The respective coupling leg is provided with a stop surface for transferring torque from the tool body to the cutting head, which stop surface is designed for abutment against a corresponding stop surface of the cutting head. The respective coupling leg is provided with a shoulder protruding from the stop surface of the coupling leg. The cutting head is provided with two shoulders facing the front end of the cutting head and arranged on opposite sides of the center axis of the cutting head, which shoulders border on a respective one of said stop surfaces of the cutting head and are arranged to extend in under a respective one of said shoulders of the coupling legs of the tool body when the cutting head is attached to the tool body, so as to thereby present the cutting head from being displaced in axial direction away from the tool body. The invention also relates to a tool body and a cutting head included in such a tool.

The present invention relates to a drilling tool for chip removing machining, wherein the drilling tool comprises a shank and an attachment, wherein the shank and the attachment are integrated with each other, wherein the shank has a free end, wherein between the free end and the attachment is provided at least one adjustable cassette which is received in a cassette pocket of the shank, and wherein an indexable cutting insert for chip removing machining is received in the cassette. The cassette has a circular cylindrical peripheral surface, the cassette pocket has a circular cylindrical support surface which is adapted to cooperate with the peripheral surface, a screw is provided for pivotable anchorage of the cassette in the cassette pocket, and the cassette and the cassette pocket has a screw to effect rotation of the cassette in the cassette pocket.

Drilling tool for chip removing machining

The present invention relates to a drill and a drill tip for chip removing machining. The drill has a drill body, a drill tip and a shank portion. The drill tip comprises at least one cutting edge and at least one peripherally arranged guide member. The drill has a center axis. The guide member of the drill tip comprises a part-cylindrical first surface portion and an eccentric second surface portion. The first surface portion connects axially rearwardly along the guide member to the second surface portion.

A drill for chip forming metalworking includes three cutting edge structures spaced circumferentially apart. Each cutting edge structure includes a radially outer cutting edge and a radially inner cutting edge. Each radially inner cutting edge is inclined in a radially inner and axially rearward direction from a radially inner end of its associated radially outer cutting edge. That radially inner end constitutes a breakpoint between each radially outer cutting edge and its respective radially inner cutting edge. The breakpoints lie in a common circle whose center coincides with the center axis of the drill.
