An example wireless device () in a dormant state improves its selection of a camping cell by accounting for multi-cell configurations. Among other things, a multi-cell configuration may improve throughput between a wireless communication network () and the wireless device (), based on the network () serving the wireless device () from two or more cells (). By camping on a cell () that belongs to a multi-cell configuration that is possible for the wireless device (), the wireless device () reduces the time and signaling needed to establish that multi-cell configuration, upon the wireless device () connecting to the network () via the camping cell. Accounting for multi-cell configurations may be done jointly, along with accounting for conventional priorities, such as conventionally-prioritized frequencies and Radio Access Technologies (RATs) and may be incorporated into the ranking of cells () based on per-cell radio-signal measurements.

Method and apparatus for cell selection in a wireless communication network

A user equipment ('UE') can receive a request for UE mobility history information from a network node. The UE can generate a UE mobility history report. The UE mobility history report can include at least one of transitions between an inactive state and a connected state for each cell included in the UE mobility history report or a carrier frequency of each cell included in the UE mobility history report. The UE can transmit the UE mobility history report to the network node.

Enhancements in mobility history information

The invention relates to methods and devices for enabling a connection of a wireless communication device released by a source radio base station to be resumed by a target radio base station. In a first aspect, a method of a source radio base station of enabling a connection of a wireless communication device released by the source radio base station to be resumed by a target radio base station is provided. The method comprises acquiring an indication that a connection established with the wireless communication device is to be released, identifying a target base station with which the connection to be released can be resumed for the wireless communication device, and transmitting, to the identified target base station, information required to resume the connection to be released by the source base station for the wireless communication device.

UE context forwarding

Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a distributed unit of a network node, for establishing a connection between the distributed unit and a central unit connected to a core part of the wireless network. The network node includes the central unit and at least the distributed unit. The distributed unit performs a Domain Name Server lookup for a proxy central unit, which will act as a temporary or initial central unit with regard to a configuration transfer procedure. The distributed unit further receives an ip address of the proxy central unit and initiates the configuration transfer procedure by sending a configuration transfer message to the ip address of the proxy central unit. The distributed unit further receives an ip address of the central unit and establishes a connection between the distributed unit and the central unit using the received ip address of the central unit.

Crest factor reduction

Systems and methods for ultra-wideband Crest Factor Reduction (CFR) are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless node for performing CFR includes performing a first CFR step on a plurality of input signals at a first sampling rate with joint peak detection and band-specific noise shaping; and performing a second CFR step on the resulting plurality of input signals at a second sampling rate with joint peak detection and joint noise shaping where the second sampling rate is higher than the first sampling rate. In this way, Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction may be increased while the computational complexity is reduced.

Ultra-wideband crest factor reduction

According to an aspect, a network node operating in a first RAN according to a first RAT is the target of an inter-RAT (IRAT) handover. The network node receives a handover request for a user equipment from a cell in a second RAN operating according to a second RAT. After handover of the user equipment to a cell in the first RAN is completed, the network node configures the user equipment to measure one or more frequencies corresponding to the second RAN. Based on measurements reported by the user equipment for the one or more frequencies, the network node identifies one or more detected cells exceeding a measurement threshold, and sends a handover report towards the second RAN. The handover report includes, for at least one detected cell exceeding the measurement threshold, a physical cell identifier for the detected cell and a frequency identifier for the detected cell.

A single polarized radiator comprising a plurality of planar notch radiating elements arranged on a dielectric substrate. Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a second network node for handling neighbour relationships between radio network nodes in a wireless communication network. The second network node initiates a neighbour relationship establishment process in the wireless communication network by transmitting an indication to a second radio network node or a first network node. The indication indicates the second radio network node to transmit an identifier of a reference signal handler associated with a reference signal of the second radio network node along with a transmission of the reference signal.

It is provided a method for configuring a first radio network node to join a system area of a mobile network, each system area being served by one or more radio network nodes configured to collaborate in user data transmissions. The method is performed in a configuration device and comprises the steps of: obtaining system area data, using the first radio network node, relating to at least one system area of a second radio network node; selecting a system area for the first radio network node to join based on the system area data; and triggering the first radio network node to join the selected system area.

Each of the multiple IP addresses are associated with a corresponding IP network () to which the node () is connected. Each of the these IP networks () is identified by a corresponding network identifier. In response to a request sent by the node (), the node receives connection information of a further node () of the communication network. The received connection information includes at least one network identifier and an associated IP address of the further node (). Based on the at least one network identifier, the node () selects one of the IP networks (). Via the selected IP network () and based on the associated IP address, the node () establishes an IP based connection to the further node ().

Connection establishment for node connected to multiple IP networks

A method performed by a first Radio Control Node (RCN) for handling a radio connection to be established in a second beam controlled by a second RCN for the UE served in a first beam controlled by the first RCN. When the radio connection of the UE, served in a first beam controlled by the first RCN, has been established in the second beam controlled by a second RCN, the first RCN obtains feedback from the second RCN. The feedback relates to information about the characteristics of the radio connection in the second beam resulting from measurements performed when the radio connection has been established between the UE and a second radio node providing the second beam. A single polarized radiator operating within a frequency range, the radiator comprising multiple active dipoles configured to be arranged a predetermined distance from a ground plane. Each active dipole comprising a first active element having first electrical characteristics and a second active element having second electrical characteristics, which first and second active elements are equal in length and provided with a respective feeding point. In each active dipole, first electrical characteristics differs from second electrical characteristics, the length of each active element is selected based on an upper frequency of the frequency range, and the first active element and/or the second active element of each active dipole is/are configured to be capacitively coupled to an active element of an adjacent active dipole.
