A filter element for filtering a fluid is provided with a first end disc and a second end disc. An annularly arranged filter medium is held between the first and second end discs. The filter medium can be flowed through by a fluid to be filtered in a radial direction relative to a longitudinal axis of the filter element from an exterior of the filter element to an interior of the filter element. A fluid outlet socket is connected to the filter medium and extends away from the filter medium in an axial direction past the first end disc. The fluid outlet socket is provided with a wall and at least one vent hole extending through the wall in the radial direction. A fluid filter is provided with a filter housing and with the afore described filter element that is arranged in the filter housing.

A coalescence element is provided with at least one coalescence medium configured to coalesce water contained in a fluid. The at least one coalescence medium is made of a material with a packing density of at most 10%. The coalescence element is embodied as a single layer formed as a cylindrical jacket and has a fluid path for a fluid between an inlet side and an outlet side of the cylindrical jacket. A filter element with a filter bellows and a support pipe arranged coaxially inside the filter bellows is provided with such coalescence element that is arranged between the filter bellows and the support pipe in the flow direction so as to surround the support pipe at a radial outer side.

A filter element arranged in a filter housing is provided with an annular filter medium flowed through by a liquid medium in a flow direction radial to a longitudinal axis of the filter element. A clean chamber is arranged in the flow direction of the liquid medium downstream of the filter medium. A filtered liquid medium outlet is fluidically connected to the clean chamber. A cylinder-shaped water separating screen is arranged in the clean chamber to separate water contained in the liquid medium. A water outlet opening fluidically connects the clean chamber to a water collecting chamber of the filter housing. A particle filter is arranged at the water outlet opening or arranged between the water outlet opening and the filtered liquid medium outlet of the filter element. The water outlet opening of the filter element is fluidically connected with the water collecting chamber of the filter housing.

A filter device has, in a housing, a filter element and, downstream of the filter element, an outflow opening for discharging the cleaned medium. Between the filter element and the outflow opening there is arranged a diverting part, wherein on the diverting part there is formed an overflow region for the flow of the medium from the filter element to the outflow opening, and the outflow opening is situated at the same level as or below the overflow region.
