A felting needle package () in accordance with the invention consists of a case having the shape of a parallelepiped, said case's interior space being divided by a dividing wall (), said wall extending diagonally with respect to the lateral walls but extending at a right angle with respect to the bottom (). The dividing wall () may have one or more interruptions such as, for example openings for grasping. Additional dividing walls may be provided. In plan view, the dividing walls divide wedge-shaped, i.e., prism-shaped, partial spaces in the package, said partial spaces being disposed to accommodate felting needle bundles that are also wedge-shaped.

Felting needle package

A shaft rod () having a heald mounting rail () glued to the rod body () using a space-filling adhesive () provided in an accommodation space () on the mounting rail () or the rod body () and having a greater volume than a holding section () formed on the rod body () or the mounting rail (). Preferably, the holding section () and the accommodation space () are configured such that the two parts can only be inserted into each other with a pivoting movement. To achieve this, the holding section () preferably has a part () extending transverse to the mouth () of the accommodation space (), and being wider than the mouth (), thus extending behind a wall section or part () of the accommodation space (). Preferably, the accommodation space () and the holding section () are configured as hook profiles that engage each other.

Glued heald mounting rail

In the heald shaft () according to the invention, a coupling device () is provided which serves for connecting the end binder () with the shaft rod () and which has a spring-biased clamping member () for frictionally holding a coupling element () in the shaft rod (). When required, the clamping member () may be moved into its releasing position against the force of the spring element () for releasing the coupling element (), so that the latter may be pulled out of the shaft rod () alone, or possibly together with other components of the coupling device (). Operating such a coupling device is particularly simple and requires neither particular skill nor particular attention. The coupling device () is adapted for shaft rods of lightweight construction.

Heald shaft having a self-tightening lock

A heald shaft () for coupling the shaft rods () with the end binders (), having connecting joints or hinges () whose pivot axes () lie externally of the shaft rods () and preferably inside the end binders (). Due to the connecting joints (), a moment-free coupling between the shaft rods () and the end binders () is ensured. The relative pivotal motions between the shaft rods () and the end binders () appearing during operation do not generate any moment transmissions between the shaft rods () and the end binders (). Preferably, the driving couplers () are arranged above the end binders () in a direct extension thereof.

Heald shaft

An end binder () for a heald shaft () is formed by a bent sheet metal member () which preferably has a U-shaped cross section and which, according to the preferred embodiment, is of high-grade steel. The open side of the U-section faces the shaft rods (). In the hollow space enclosed by the bent sheet metal member () shaft rod couplers () are secured which are preferably pivotally held. The upper or lower end of the bent sheet metal member forms part of a driving coupler () which is situated preferably in a linear continuation of the bent sheet metal member () and is a one-piece component with the end binder (). Such a structure may be manufactured in a simple manner with very small tolerances, and it has a low weight, a substantial stiffness and highly satisfactory bearing properties for being supported in plastic guides.
