A balance shaft includes an unbalanced shaft () comprising a bearing journal (), the periphery of which is merely partially cylindrical. The cylindrical partial periphery () of the bearing journal is oriented toward the shaft imbalance. The balance shaft also includes a needle roller cage assembly (); and a bearing ring (), which extends around the bearing journal, lies against the cylindrical partial periphery and forms the inner raceway of the needle roller cage assembly. The cage () of the needle roller cage assembly is designed to run on the end faces of the bearing ring axially on both sides by means of radially inwardly extending projections.

Balance shaft assembly

A plunger () for a high-pressure fuel pump is proposed, having a housing () which is similar to a tube and in the drive-side annular face () of which two flats () lie diametrically opposite one another which are indented from an outer shell () of the housing () and in which a pin () is mounted which supports a roller, wherein an inner shell () of the housing () is penetrated axially below the roller by a separate bridge piece (), the lower face () of which acts as a rest for a pump piston in the case of an output-side annular face () of the housing (), wherein the bridge piece () is fixed against rotation about an axial line of the housing () and is configured as a thick-walled longitudinal beam, with the result that an area () in the manner of a cylindrical segment remains between the longitudinal walls () of said longitudinal beam and the inner shell () of the housing (), wherein, in order to fix the bridge piece () against rotation about the axial line of the housing (), in the circumferential section of the inner shell () of the housing (), in a first transverse wall () of the bridge piece (), at least one projection () protrudes from one of the components (), which projection () is seated in a respectively complementary recess () of the respective other one of the components ().

Tappet

A tappet () for a fuel injection pump, having a tube-like housing (), which accommodates a roller () for the running on a periodic lift generator inside the inner lateral surface () thereof in the region of a first ring end (). This roller has axle stumps () projecting from the end faces () of the roller, by which stumps the roller sits in recesses () in the housing (), wherein the housing () is penetrated axially by a bridge piece () underneath the roller (), the underside () of which bridge piece, which faces a second ring end () of the housing (), acts as a rest for a plunger following part. The inner lateral surface () of the housing (), proceeding from the first ring end thereof in the direction of the second ring end () and at least in the circumferential section () thereof, which surrounds an outer lateral surface () of the roller (), has a pocket-like thinned portion of material (), which levels out under a half of the height of the roller () and into which the ring edges () of the roller () project.

A tappet () having a tube-like housing (), which in the region of one of the end faces () thereof receives a roller () running on a pin () and serving for contact with a periodic stroke generator. The pin () is mounted via the ends () thereof in a flat () that is indented from an outer surface () of the housing, wherein in the housing (), axially beneath the roller (), means () are provided for an at least indirect bearing of a tappet follower member. The housing () is formed of an extruded profile having profiling on the inner surface () of the housing (), wherein, viewed in a circumferential direction of the housing (), at least twothick-wall profile segments and two thin-wall profile segments () are present. The thick-wall profile segments lie diametrically opposite each other and the thin-wall profile segments lie diametrically opposite each other, and the flat portions () are located in the thick-wall profiled segments ().

A tappet including a housing having a drive-side annular end face at which two flat sections, recessed in relation to an outer shell of the housing, lie diametrically opposite one another, and a bolt supporting a roller mounted in said sections is provided. A bridge section protrudes through an inner shell of the housing, and the output-side end face of said bridge section acts as a contact point for a tappet follower part, the bridge section lying against undersides of said flat sections and being held by a ring that is arranged in the inner shell, and sits in a groove of the inner shell so as not to protrude radially out of said groove, at least two tabs projecting radially inwards from an upper side of the ring, and the bridge section fixed thereupon in the direction of the output-side annular end face.

A roller tappet intended for use a) in a high pressure fuel pump; b) in a valve train of an internal combustion engine; c) in an engine such as an axial piston engine or a radial piston engine; or d) generally for a pump/compressor of an axial piston type or of a radial piston type.

Roller tappet

A roller tappet () is proposed for a high-pressure fuel pump of an internal combustion engine, having a housing (), in the case of the drive-side end () of which two surfaces () which lie diametrically opposite one another and are depressed by an outer shell () of the housing () are applied with in each case one receptacle (), in which surfaces () a pin () is mounted which carries a cam roller (), wherein an inner shell () of the housing (), axially below the cam roller () as viewed in the direction remote from the drive, is penetrated by a bridge piece (), the output-side end () of which has a rest () for a tappet following part, wherein the outer shell () of the housing () which is non-stepped as least as far as possible apart from the surfaces () is provided as a closed circumferential ring (), as viewed in the drive direction immediately above upper sides () of the surfaces (), which upper sides () run through the housing () in the manner of chords, which closed circumferential ring () is adjoined by the drive-side end (), and wherein the receptacles () are present in the surfaces () as cut-outs which emanate from their upper sides () and nestle around the pin () in the manner of half-shells.

The invention relates to a tappet () for a high-pressure fuel pump or for a valve drive of an internal combustion engine, comprising a housing () which has a cam run-on surface () on the drive side () thereof, wherein an output side () of the housing () rests on a lower face () of a bridge piece () that projects through an inner shell () of the housing (), wherein an anti-turn lug () protrudes from the outer shell () of the housing () and is arranged in a window () in the latter, wherein said lug is substantially present as an upright body similar to a semi-cylinder in the region thereof protruding from the housing (), and the outer surface () of said lug, in cross section, results in an ogival curve made up of two or more circular arcs ().

A roller tappet having a housing near whose drive side front end, two diametrically opposing flats receding from an outer wall of the housing are arranged, each of the two flats having a seat with a U-shape open in a direction towards the drive side front end. A pin is mounted in the seats, a roller serving as a run-on surface of a periodic stroke producer extends on said pin, and a support for a tappet follower element is seated axially under the roller near a driven side front end of the roller tappet. A retention element is provided for the pin in an axial direction of the pin and a retention element in the seats of the pin is provided for preventing the pin from exiting axially out of the housing, and these two retention elements are united.

A structural assembly () for a high pressure fuel pump, with the structural assembly () having a tappet () connected to a pump piston (), which bears frontally against a contact surface () of an inner side () of the bottom () of the pump piston (), the bottom () being connected to a guide skirt () of the tappet (). An outer peripheral wall () of the pump piston () is surrounded near the inner side () with radial lash by a bore () of a spring plate () on whose bottom-distal side () a coil compression spring () bears for resetting the pump piston (), and a bottom side () of the spring plate () is situated opposite an annular surface () of an entraining collar () on the pump piston (). The entraining collar () is a separate, disk-like element seated on the pump piston () with slight axial distance to the spring plate (), which spring plate () possesses a disk section () with the bottom side () having the bore (). A concentric bushing () projects from the outer edge () of the disk section () in direction of the bottom () and surrounds the entraining collar () with radial lash, which bushing () merges into an annular collar section () that includes the bottom-distal side () that supports the coil compression spring () and is supported directly on the inner side () of the bottom (), and an outer peripheral wall () of the pump piston (), free of radial collars, is finely machined by centerless grinding.

Structural assembly comprising a pump piston and a tappet

The invention concerns a roller tappet () for a high pressure fuel pump, said roller tappet () comprising a housing () comprising on a drive side front end (), a slide-mounted roller () serving as a running surface of a cam, said housing (), as viewed in housing direction, comprising a bridge member () arranged below the roller (), said bridge member () comprising on a front end () turned towards a driven side front end () of the housing (), a support () for a tappet follower member, wherein a shell member () like a semi shell or a one-third shell separated out of a rolling bearing ring is seated in a cylindrical cavity () of a further drive side front end () of the bridge member (), and the roller () extends for sliding displacement directly in said shell member ().

A cam follower for a high-pressure fuel pump of an internal combustion engine, which has a cam roller that is accommodated in a pocket of the cam follower. The cam roller has a bore and the bore is mounted by on a pin which is seated at the ends in receptacles of opposite walls of the pocket. The cam roller runs with its end sides directly in front of the walls. Each end side of the cam roller takes the form of an outer surface of a spherical zone, and each wall is smooth and straight, at least in the region of its run-on piece at the respective end side of the cam roller.

Cam follower

A tappet () for a high-pressure fuel pump having a housing (), the drive input side (), which serves as a cam run-on face. The housing () incorporates a roller (), wherein the drive output side (), which serves as a contact surface for a tappet follower part, of said housing () bears against an underside () of a bridge piece () which projects through an inner casing () of the housing (), and a rotation prevention device () which projects beyond the outer casing () of the housing () extends in a window () of the housing (). The rotation prevention device () is formed by a radial elongation of the bridge piece (). A projection extends from the inner casing () of the tappet () only on a portion situated diametrically opposite the window (), which projection is integrally connected and is produced by a punching and embossing process and rises in a wedge shape in a direction of the drive input side. The section () of the sheet-steel bridge piece () which is situated diametrically opposite the radial elongation () is snapped over the projection (), and this section () rests with an edge region () of the underside () thereof on said projection ().

A tappet (), either for a high-pressure fuel pump or for a valve train of an internal combustion engine, with a housing () whose driven side () used for a contact of a tappet-following part forms a contact on a bottom side () of a bridge part () projecting through an inner casing () of the housing (). An anti-rotation locking device () projects past the outer casing () of the housing with a first cylinder section () and sits in a window () of the housing (), with this anti-rotation locking device () being provided as a cylindrical element, and tab-like projections () project from peripheral walls () of the window () and the anti-rotation locking device (), standing 'loose' in the window (), snaps behind these projections. A second cylinder section () of the anti-rotation locking device extends behind the inner casing () of the housing (), and the bridge part (), extending on an axial section of the anti-rotation locking device (), has in its peripheral section a recess () in its outer surface (), with the second cylinder section () of the anti-rotation locking device () being supported against this recess.

A mechanical roller tappet (,) comprising a tappet housing (,) shaped out of sheet metal, a drive roller () actuable by a cam () and an axle (,) on which the drive roller () is mounted, end portions () of the axle (,) being supported in axle eyes () of the tappet housing (,), said tappet housing (,) comprising a tappet skirt (,) and a tappet bottom () possessing a contact surface () for an adjacent engine component on a power take-off side and at an end of the tappet skirt facing the cam, the tappet bottom is connected to the tappet skirt and is shaped into the interior of the tappet skirt while forming a pocket for receiving the drive roller, the axle eyes being arranged in first sections () of the tappet bottom while being spaced from an inner peripheral surface () of the tappet skirt and extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the tappet skirt, the contact surface being arranged on a second section () of the tappet bottom connecting the first sections to each other.
