Various embodiments include a method for managing a production process for fabricating a component comprising: storing fabrication data for fabricating the component in a first file container; storing reproduction data relating to the component in the first file container, wherein said reproduction data includes a permission relating to the fabrication of the component; storing production data indicating a state of a production machine during the production process in a second file container; storing character data indicating a property of the component in a third file container; receiving a request; and providing at least one datum in response to the request, the at least one datum selected from the group of data consisting of: the stored fabrication data, the reproduction data, the production data, and/or the character data.

Operating method and apparatus for controlling a machine tool

A production machine has a controller and a plurality of components that include link addresses associated with a memory region of a separate computer that can be connected with the controller via a computer-to-computer link. Parameter data for the components are stored in the memory region. The link addresses are stored either in the components themselves or in component associated with these components. The controller accesses the link addresses and then uses the link addresses to access parameter data. The controller executes a control program to determine control commands for components, such as actuators, of the production machine, with the control commands depending on the parameter data, and transmits the control commands to the production machine.

An apparatus and method for simulating the behavior of the drive system and the mechanism of machine tool or production-line machine by use of mathematical models of the drives and the mechanisms of the driven mechanical elements of the machine are disclosed. Preferably actual values for regulated and unregulated axes are calculated at the same time using NC- and PLC-models, respectively by an auxiliary computer using desired values provided by a digital controller. The actual values are then supplied to a mechanism model, preferably a geometric kinematic model, which produces a state signal that is fed back to the digital controller, preferably in real time. The result is an efficient, easy and cost-effective simulation that closely approximates reality and can be provided in real-time.

Apparatus and method for simulation of the control and machine behavior of machine tools and production-line machines

An application program that describes processing of a workpiece by the machine tool in form of instruction steps is disclosed. A computer executes the application program and step-by-step determines based on a simulation program machine-dependent control commands for a controller. The machine-dependent control commands depend on a virtual time base that is independent of an actual time base. The computer determines based on a computer-internal model of the machine tool and the determined machine-dependent control commands expected actual states of the machine tool, thereby simulating execution of the machine-dependent control commands by the machine tool. The simulation program is implemented as control software in the controller.

Method and system for simulating processing of a workpiece with a machine tool

Measuring units measure state signals of an industrial technical process. The entirety of the state signals represents an image of the process. The measuring units transmit the state signals to a common logic unit which transmits the image of the process at least partially via a transmission medium to a computing device. The computing device executes a control program to determine at least a portion of the control state for the process and transmits the portion to the logic unit via the transmission medium. The control state includes control signals for a number of control devices. The logic unit transmits to each of the control devices the control signals intended for the respective control device. The control devices affect the process accordingly. The above steps are repeatedly executed in real-time with a cycle time in a range of milliseconds or less.

So that the path (BB, V1 to V7) for a rotable polygonal punching tool (WZ) can be determined easily, the workpiece contour (K), the dimension of the tool (x, y), the position of the axis of rotation (x/2, y/2) and the sense of direction of the machining are set by the operator into a numerical control (ST). An equidistant track (BB) is therefrom determined by the control (ST), such as is customary for milling operations. This track (BB), however, is corrected in the vicinity of corner of the workpiece contour (K) by the control (ST) in such a manner that punching optimized with respect to distance and time and with high contour fidelity is made possible.
