A method for producing a piezo actuator includes: providing a green stack including alternately successive green films and inner electrode layers; forming trenches on the outside green stack in areas in which the inner electrode layers are intended to be electrically insulated from the corresponding outer electrodes, the trenches shortening the inner electrode layers from the outside of the green stack toward the inside; filling the trenches with an electrically insulating slurry; further processing the green stack, including filling the trenches with slurry, such that the green films produce piezo electric layers and the green stack produces a piezo stack; mounting two outer electrodes on the outside of the piezo stack, such that the two outer electrodes are alternately electrically connected to the inner electrode layers. The trenches may be filled with the slurry using one of the following methods; screen printing, immersion, spraying, or vacuum infiltration.

Method for producing a piezo actuator and piezo actuator

The embodiments relate to a piezoelectric component including at least one fully active piezoelectric element comprising electrode layers and piezoelectric layers arranged therebetween. The electrode layers are conveyed to a lateral edge of the piezoelectric element and contacted there. The external electrode is attached in a structured fashion for electrical contacting and/or a structured external electrode is made available: The external electrode essentially includes two components, namely the contacting field and the contacting path. In the event of several piezoelectric elements (piezoelectric actuator in multilayer structure) stacked one above the other, the contacting path functions as a collector electrode, which connects the contacting fields of the piezoelectric elements to one another. The insulation path exists for the electrical insulation of the contacting path from electrode layers which are not to be contacted. A reliable contacting of the electrode layers is possible with the structure according to the invention. A fully active, piezoceramic multilayer actuator with the described contacting is used in automotive engineering for activating fuel injection valves.

Piezoelectric component with directly structured external contacting, method for manufacturing the component and use of said component

A piezoceramic composition has a nominal empirical formula of PbREAE[ZrTi(FeW)]O. RE is a rare earth metal with a fraction b and AE is an alkaline earth metal with a fraction c. Iron is present with an iron fraction f&#xb7;z, and tungsten with a tungsten fraction w&#xb7;z. In addition, the following relationships apply: a&#x3c;1; 0=b=0.15; 0=c=0.5; f&#x3e;0; w&#x3e;0; 0.1=f/w=5; x&#x3e;0; y&#x3e;0; z&#x3e;0 and x+y+z=1. A method of producing a piezoceramic material using the piezoceramic composition has the steps: a) provision of a green ceramic body with the piezoceramic composition, and b) heat treatment of the green body, a piezoceramic of the piezoceramic material being produced from the piezoceramic composition. The heat treatment encompasses calcining and/or sintering. The piezoceramic composition undergoes compaction at below 1000&#xb0; C. Metals which melt at low temperature (such as silver or a silver-palladium alloy with a low palladium content, for example) can therefore be sintered together with the piezoceramic composition.

Lead zirconate titanate with iron/tungstein doping, method of producing a piezoceramic material with the lead zirconate titanate, and use of the piezoceramic material

A piezoelectric component with at least one fully active piezoelement has electrode layers and interposed piezoelectric layers guided to a lateral edge of the piezoelement and contacted there. An insulating layer applied for electric contacting has an electric through-plating. An electrically conductive gas-phase deposition layer is applied directly to the electrode layer guided up to the lateral surface of the piezoelement by way of deposition from the gas phase in order to improve electric contacting. An external electrode is applied to the gas-phase deposition layer. In the case of several superposed stacked piezoelements (piezoactuator in multi-layer design), the external electrode functions as a collector electrode which connects the electrode layers to each other. The structure enables secure contacting of the electrode layers. A fully active piezoceramic multi-layer actuator with the described contacting may be used in automobile technology for activating fuel-injection valves.

Piezoelectric component with outer contacting, having gas-phase deposition, method for manufacturing component and use of component

A piezoceramic composition of a calculated empirical formula PbREAE[ZrTi(NiMo)]O, wherein RE represents a rare earth metal having a rare earth metal content b, AE represents an alkaline earth metal having an alkaline earth metal content c, nickel is provided with a nickel content n.z, and molybdenum is provided with a molybdenum content m.z. Furthermore, the following correlations apply: a&#x3c;1; 0=b=0.15; 0=c=0.5; n&#x3e;0; m&#x3e;0; 0.1=n/m=5; x&#x3e;0; y&#x3e;0; z&#x3e;0, and x+y+z=1. In a method for producing a piezoceramic component a) a green ceramic member containing the piezoceramic composition is supplied; and b) the green member is subjected to a thermal treatment such that the piezoceramic material of the component is produced from the piezoceramic composition. The thermal treatment encompasses calcining and/or sintering of the piezoceramic composition. The piezoceramic composition is compressed below 1000&#xb0; C., thus allowing metals melting at a lower temperature to be sintered along with the piezoceramic composition.
