An aqueous polymer dispersion with an average particle size of less than 1000 nm comprising a) a polymer carrier prepared by heterophase radical polymerization of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of b) an oil-soluble organic UV absorber selected from the class of p-aminobenzoic acid derivatives; salicylic acid derivatives; benzophenone derivatives; diphenyl acrylate derivatives; benzofuran derivatives; polymeric UV absorbers, comprising one or more organosilicon radicals; cinnamic acid derivatives; camphor derivatives; s-triazine derivatives; trianilino-striazine derivatives; menthyl anthranilates; and benzotriazole derivatives; wherein the weight ratio of the oil-soluble organic UV absorber (b) to polymer carrier (a) is greater than 50 parts UV absorber per 100 parts of carrier; and c) a surfactant selected from c) a nonionic surfactant selected from c) the condensation product of a Cto Cfatty alcohol or Cto Cfatty acid and a mono- or disaccharide; and c) an anionic surfactant selected from c) sulfosuccinates and sulfosuccinamates; c) fatty alcoholates; and c) mixtures of phosphoric acid esters and fatty alcohols having from 6 to 18, preferably from 8 to 10, carbon atoms. The aqueous polymer dispersions show unexpectedly high sunscreen effects and a positive skin feeling. They have excellent anti-pollen, anti-dust and anti-oxidant performances in sun screen compositions.

Described are agrochemical compositions comprising alkoxylation products according to general formula (I)R(CO)&#x2014;O&#x2014;[RO]R&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)wherein Ris a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, optionally hydroxy-functionalized hydrocarbyl radical containing 8 to 30 carbon atoms, Ris an ethylene, propylene or butylene group or mixtures thereof, Ris hydrogen or an acyl group containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms, m is 0 or 1, n is an integer between 3 and 100. When Ris an acyl group, Ris ethylene, propylene or mixtures thereof, and when Ris hydrogen, Ris ethylene, propylene, butylene or mixtures thereof provided that the terminal group represents a butylene oxide unit.

Agricultural compositions

Suggested are biocide compositions, comprising (a) 2-Furoic and/or Tetrahydro-2-furoic acid amides; (b) Biocides and optionally (c) Oil components or co-solvents and/or (d) Emulsifiers. The compositions show high solubility for biocides and improved emulsification properties.

Biocide compositions comprising amides based on 2-furoic acid and its derivatives

Suggested are biocide compositions, comprising (a) esters based on ketocarboxylic acids, (b) biocides, and optionally (c) oil components or co-solvents and/or (d) emulsifiers. The compositions exhibit an improved stability even if stored at temperatures between 5&#xb0; and 40&#xb0; C. over a longer period.

The invention relates to a copolymerizable emulsifier comprising (meth)acrylic acid esters, selected from compounds of the general formula (1) and (II), where: A is an acrylic group having 3 to 40 carbon atoms, x and y independently of each other are a hydrogen group or a methyl group, B is hydrogen or a sulfate or phosphate group, and n a number in the range of 0 to 40. The invention further relates to methods of using said copolymerizable emulsifier in the emulsion polymerization of olefinically unsaturated monomers to prepare polymers.

A salt of a mono- and/or dialkyl ester of a sulfonated dicarboxylic acid is provided, where the dicarboxylic acid contains 4 to 8 carbon atoms and the alkyl groups are derived from 2-propylheptanol. Processes for producing conjugated linoleic acid are described which comprise: (a) isomerizing a linoleic acid lower alkyl ester in the presence of an alkali metal alcoholate to form a conjugated linoleic acid lower alkyl ester; (b) saponifying the conjugated linoleic acid lower alkyl ester in the presence of an aqueous lye to form a saponification product; and (c) neutralizing the saponification product with phosphoric acid.

Processes for preparing conjugated linoleic acid are described wherein a conjugated linoleic acid lower alkyl ester is subjected to hydrolysis in the presence of an enzyme to form a hydrolyzate comprising a conjugated linoleic acid and a lower alkanol, wherein at least a portion of the lower alkanol is continuously removed; the hydrolyzate is separated into an organic phase and an aqueous/alcoholic phase; and the conjugated linoleic acid is separated from the organic phase.
