A transmission having planetary gearsets (RSRSRSRSRS). Elements (STST) of gearsets (RSRS) form input and output shafts, respectively. Element (SO) of gearset (RS) couples element (HO) of gearset (RS) and can be immobilized by shift element (A). Element (ST) of gearset (RS) couples element (HO) of gearset (RS). Element (HO) of gearset (RS) can be immobilized by shift element (B). Elements (SOST) of gearsets (RSRS) can connect by shift element (C). Elements (HOSOSO) of gearsets (RSRSRS) couple and can couple element (SO) of gearset (RS) by shift element (E). An element of gearset (RS) is connected to an element of gearset (RS), while another element of gearset (RS) can be connected by shift element (D) to another element of gearset (RS). Elements (SOST) of gearsets (RSRS) are connected and can be immobilized by shift element (F).

Automatic transmission

A multi-speed transmission has drive and output shafts, three front-mounted and two rear-mounted planetary gear sets, and shift elements which can be engaged to selectively implement at least eleven forward gears and one reverse gear. The front gear sets are connected to one element of the rear gear sets. Five shift elements are assigned to the front gear sets and two are assigned to the rear gear sets, such that the front gear sets transmit seven output speeds to the rear gear sets. If normalized to the input speed of the drive shaft, at least one output speed of the front gear sets is less than 0, one output speed is greater than 1, one output speed is equal to 0, one output speed is equal to 1 and two output speeds are between 0 and 1.

Multispeed transmission

A multi-speed transmission having drive and output shafts, front-mounted planetary gearsets, rear-mounted planetary gearsets and six shift elements. Selective engagement of shift elements selectively renders a drive shaft speed and speeds generated in the front gearsets for achieving a reverse gear and twelve forward gears via the rear gearsets transmissible as an output speed to the output shaft. Four shift elements are assigned to the front gearsets and two are assigned to the rear gearsets. At least one front gearset is rigidly connected to an element of the rear gearsets, resulting in six different output speeds of the front gearsets being transmissible to the rear gearsets. If normalized to the drive shaft input speed, one output speed is smaller than 0, three output speeds are between 0 and 1, one output speed is equal to 1 and one output speed is greater than 1.

A multi-speed transmission having drive and output shafts, three front-mounted and two rear-mounted planetary gearsets, six shift elements which are selectively engaged to render a speed of the drive shaft and speeds generated in the front gearsets to achieve at least one reverse and twelve forward gears via at least one of the rear gearsets transmissible as the output shaft speed. Four shift elements are assigned to the front gearsets and two shift elements are assigned to the rear gearsets. At least one of the front gearsets is fixed to an element of the rear gearsets, resulting in six different output speeds of the front gearsets being transmissible to at least one of the rear gearsets. If normalized to the input speed of the drive shaft, one of the six output speeds is less than 0, four are between 0 and 1, and one is equal to 1.

A transmission having five planetary gearsets and seven shift elements for achieving various ratios between drive and output shafts. A forward gearset has three shafts. Two intermediate gearsets have four shafts. Two main gearsets have at least four shafts. Depending on the shift states of the second and third shift elements, the forward gearset can generate two rotational speeds at the output side, which transfer from a forward gearset shaft to an intermediate gearset shaft. Depending on the shift states of the first to fifth shift elements, the intermediate gearset can generate eight rotational speeds at the output side, which pass from another intermediate gearset shaft to a main gearset shaft. Depending on the shift states of the seven shift elements, the main gearset can generate up to fourteen forward and two reverse gears at the output side, which are transferred by another main gearset shaft to the output shaft.

Planetary automatic transmission

A system for locking and releasing a shifting position of a shifting element that is hydraulically actuatable by an actuating pressure is provided. The shifting element is arranged coaxially with a transmission shaft. The system includes a stop valve. The stop valve is subjectable to a control pressure that is separate from the actuating pressure of the shifting element. The stop valve is arranged radially inside the shifting element in the transmission housing.

Assembly for blocking and enabling a shifting position of a shifting element

A stop valve assembly is provided for the locking and unlocking of at least one hydraulic chamber of a shift element that is applied with operating pressure and is coaxially arranged at a shaft in a transmission housing of an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle. At least one first stop valve for lowering the operating pressure of the shift element and at least one second stop valve for raising the operating pressure of the shift element are provided.

Valve for locking and releasing a hydraulically actuated shifting element

A hydraulic system for operating an automatic transmission for motor vehicles includes a hydraulic actuator for operating a clutch and a stop valve, whereas the actuator has a pressurizable actuating pressure chamber, which can be closed in a pressure-tight manner by means of the stop valve, such that the clutch pressure is maintained independent of the other pressures of the hydraulic system. The stop valve includes a closure device that is movable by means of a hydraulic control pressure (p_S) into a closed position, in which an actuating pressure chamber port, and thus the actuating pressure chamber, is closed by means of the closure device. The closure device is movable into an open position at least by means of the force of a spring, in which the actuating pressure chamber port is opened. Thereby, the stop valve features a shiftable locking device, by means of which the closure device can be fixed in the closed position.

Hydraulic system for an automatic transmission

An axial mounting of the planetary gearwheels of a planetary gearset having a sun gear that meshes with at least one planetary gearwheel mounted on a planetary bolt that is supported on the planetary carrier. The at least one planetary gearwheel meshes with a ring gear. At least one check-plate, which has a hole for the planetary bolt and which is positioned on one side of the planetary gearwheel between the planetary gearwheel and the planetary carrier, is associated with each planetary gearwheel. The check-plate is completely flat and is axially symmetrical relative to its longitudinal and transverse axes. The at least one check-plate has two wings that extend in the longitudinal direction, which are positioned in recesses formed in the planetary carrier, when the check-plate is in the installed condition, to secure the check-plate against rotation. The check-plate is fixed relative to the planetary carrier.
