A transfer printing station is provided with a transfer roller for transfer of a toner image generated on an intermediate carrier onto at least one recording medium in a transfer printing region of the transfer printing station. A drive unit causes the transfer roller to move towards the intermediate carrier as an ON position or away from the intermediate carrier as an OFF position, the drive unit being designed such that it is position-controlled when moving towards the ON position, and is torque controlled in the ON position.

In order to be able to supply a rotating transfer roller in a transfer printing station of an electrophotographic printing device with a high voltage, a system and method is proposed that comprises a voltage transfer device with an elastically borne brush, a compensation device with a bushing standing under spring force, and a monitoring device with a Hall switch. For voltage transfer, the brush is pressed onto the voltage connection location of the transfer roller. For compensation of the axial play of the transfer roller, the bushing is pressed onto the bearing of the transfer roller. For monitoring as to whether a transfer roller is connected with the device, the Hall switch is used which checks whether the bushing has been moved or not.

System and method for transfer of an electrical voltage to/from a rotating roller

In electrographic printing devices which print a printing material, for example paper webs, there exists a problem in the case of a malfunction that the printing material has to be removed from the printing unit as this occurs it should be avoided that drive rollers for the printing material are dirtied by non-fixed toner images. To avoid this, a cutting device is provided that presents a reel cutter that is guided in a guide groove of a guide tube. When a malfunction occurs, the cutting device is activated, the reel cutter cuts the printing material, and the cut sections of the printing material are pulled out of the printing unit separately.

In processing web material, the material is passed through a guiding arrangement which has a plurality of guide elements. In order to enable removing the guide element for repair without disturbing the web material, each of the guide elements is provided with a lifting arrangement which is concentric to the guide element and is movable from one angular position withdrawn from the path of the elongated material engaging the guide element to a second position lifting the elongated material off of the guide element so that the guide element can be axially withdrawn from the machine.

A printer or copier has a transfer printing station for electrostatic transfer of toner from a photoconductor to the recording medium. A pressure contact element is provided on the recording medium guide elements to ensure contact of the recording medium with the photoconductor during transfer. Supporting rollers of a slightly greater diameter than the pressure contact element are provided at each end thereof bearing on the photoconductor as spacer elements to define a minimum spacing between the pressure contact element and the intermediate carrier. The contact pressure element(s) may also be mounted on pivotable levers movable by an eccentric.

An apparatus for transporting a band-shaped recording medium in an electrographic printing or copying device, includes a drive cylinder, a pressure cylinder mounted displaceably relative to the drive cylinder, and a pressure spring effecting a contact pressure of the pressure cylinder on the drive cylinder, wherein the recording medium is transported between the drive cylinder and the pressure cylinder by friction, and the drive cylinder adjoins the recording medium with a contact surface, and wherein the force effect of pressure spring is divided into a first, radial force component acting perpendicularly to the contact surface and a second force component received by a guide face guiding the pressure cylinder.
