A semiconductor device and method is disclosed. The semiconductor device may include a semiconductor substrate including an active area, a metal layer structure over the active area, wherein the metal layer structure is configured to form an electrical contact, the metal layer structure including a solder area, a buffer area, and a barrier area between the solder area and the buffer area, wherein, in the barrier area, the metal layer structure is further away from the active area than in the solder area and in the buffer area, and wherein each of the solder area and the buffer area is in direct contact with the active area or with a wiring layer structure arranged between the active area and the metal layer structure.

Service devices are used in the field of automation and normally form interfaces between programmable logic controllers (PLC) and the installations or installation components to be controlled. Service devices such as these generally have a multiplicity of electrical interfaces for additional modules, with the additional modules being connected via control lines to the PLC, to further service devices or to installation components. An electrical additional module for a service device, a combination of the additional module with the service device, and an additional module set having various additional modules which allow easier fitting and removal of the additional modules in the service device are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, an electrical additional module is proposed, having an appliance interface for fitting the additional module to a service device, with the service device having a stepped holding geometry with at least two steps on each of which a contact device is arranged for holding an electrical opposing contact device, with the appliance interface having step sections which are designed to be complementary to the at least two steps and on which in each case one of the electrical opposing contact device is arranged in order to make contact with the associated contact device, and with the at least two step sections being rigidly connected to one another when the additional module is not fitted.

It is normal practice in automation to network individual components of an installation via bus lines, with this network carrying out a multiplicity of communication and supply tasks during operation. In at least one embodiment, a system interface, as well as an installation which uses this interface, are disclosed with the operational reliability of the installation being improved. In at least one embodiment, a system interface is proposed for connection of a bus line to an actuator assembly in a control system with a K connection for connection of a communication channel and with a K-U connection for connection of a communication voltage supply channel, and an A-U connection for connection of an actuator voltage supply channel.

In the digital multi-subscriber radio telecommunication system which operates using frequency hopping technology and is intended for use in the 2.4 GHz ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band, in which a 20 dB channel bandwidth of a maximum of 1 MHz is prescribed, the known, DECT radio system operating using TDMA/FDMA technology is matched, in RF terms, to the ISM band and is modified such that the data transfer rate is reduced, preferably halved, by comparison with the data transfer rate of 1152 kbit/s, which is prescribed as standard for DECT. The system according to the invention can be used in cordless telephones.

Digital multi-subscriber radio telecommunication system working with frequency jumping

A circuit is provided for time division duplexing with a frequency hopping technique and has a total of just two frequency synthesizers for the transmission and reception paths and only one up-converter in the transmission path. The UHF synthesizer frequency is additionally subjected to frequency division prior to insertion as a heterodyne frequency of the assigned converter in the transmission and reception paths, which, owing to the shorter transient recovery times, makes it possible to utilize the UHF frequency synthesizers at different frequencies for the transmission and reception slots, respectively. A particular application is in cordless telephones.

A method and circuit for compensation control of offset voltages of a radio receiving circuit integrated in a circuit module that can be used in receiver and transceiver chips for portable mobile radio transceivers, for example in GSM or PCN/PCS systems. In the course of offset voltage compensated in the baseband of a radio receiver, the charge state of a capacitor, which is switched on in a sample-and-hold circuit by predetermined, constant control pulses is evaluated on-chip. The evaluation result is used to match the charging current of a sample operational amplifier to the respective charge state of the capacitor, thereby achieving a minimal compensation time with stable regulation.

Method and circuit for compensation control of offset voltages of a radio receiving circuit integrated in a circuit module

A frequency synthesizer for a radio terminal with which a dual-band and/or dual-mode switchover is possible in a simple manner. The frequency synthesizer has a double phase-locked loop with a high-frequency portion and an intermediate-frequency portion, each with one divider and one counter in a feedback branch. There is at least one memory for holding a plurality of divider values for the counter in the intermediate-frequency portion. The counter in the high-frequency portion is coupled to the memory in such a way that when a new divider value is written into the counter of the high-frequency portion, an associated divider value from the memory is written into the counter of the intermediate-frequency portion. In this way, the frequency generated by the intermediate-frequency divider is adapted to the frequency generated in the high-frequency portion in such a way that the requisite operating frequencies of each active mobile radio system are set automatically. In the same way, the dual-mode switchover can be carried out by coupling a further memory with further divider values for the counter of the high-frequency portion.

A balanced voltage reference circuit has a transistor that is operated as an emitter follower and to whose base two resistors are connected in series for beta compensation of the balanced circuit. One end of the smaller resistor which faces away from a transistor base, the smaller resistor being split into two resistor elements, is connected inside the chip to a signal point of an amplifier circuit whose operating point can be adjusted. In which case, one end of an integrated capacitance is connected, as a parallel element of an RC filter, between the two resistor elements of the smaller resistor.

An integrated circuit configuration for generating a reference current by bipolar technology includes a transistor of one conduction type having a control terminal being acted upon by a reference voltage and having a load path. An externally connectable resistor is to be connected between the load path of the transistor and a reference potential. A current mirror configuration has an input side connected between the load path of the transistor and a supply voltage source and has an output for picking up a reference current.
