A rocker joint for a bush chain or roller chain, comprises a bush having a through-passage running along the bush longitudinal axis, a first rocker surface formed in the through-passage, and a pin arranged in the through-passage of the bush and which has a second rocker surface formed thereon. A chain comprises inner and outer chain links, which are offset relative to each other, the inner and outer chain links being connected by rocker joints, each of which comprises a bush and a pin. A friction-reducing joint and a chain with reduced friction and less wear are provided, and thus a reduced COemission of the associated internal combustion engine, the chain being stable and easy to produce. This is achieved in that the bush is configured as a straight circular cylinder in which the through-passage is arranged in the bush eccentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the bush.

An articulated chain having alternating inner and outer chain links connected by hinge, having a running direction, each inner link comprising a link plate and each outer link comprising two link plates and two hinge pins interconnecting, each hinge pin rotationally fixed in an opening of the associated outer link plates and extending through an opening of the associated inner link to form a chain hinge, the links having plate backs for contact with a tensioning or guide rail. The link plate back comprises a leading area viewed in the running direction and an adjoining trailing area, the leading area extending substantially parallel to a plane projected between center lines of pin openings and hinge openings, respectively, and the trailing area extending from a part of the link plates at an angle to the plane projected between the center lines, the vertex of the angle pointing in the running direction.

A link chain is provided, in particular a drive chain of a combustion engine, with chain links connected one to another by a chain articulation. The inner and outer chain links, which preferably are arranged in alternation, each have at least two link plates arranged in parallel with each other, each with two link openings. One link pin in each case extends through one of the link openings of the link plates to form a chain articulation. In this design, the link plates are made of a boron-manganese steel.

A link chain is made of chain links connected by chain joints, a chain joint comprising at least one bearing and a pin guided in a pivotable manner and in contact with this chain joint bearing. At least one bearing surface of the pin or chain joint bearing has a hard material layer applied by a PVD process, formed from a compound including at least two metals and a non-metal, at least C, N or Si being selected as the non-metal and the two metals being selected from Cr, Mo, W, Ti, Cu, Zn, Zr, Ta, Nb, Al, B, V, Hf, whereby the two metals differ from each other and the first metal is present in the hard material layer in a crystal structure that differs from the crystal structure of the second metal.

The present invention relates to a traction drive with a compensating device for vibration reduction of a driven shaft, for example a camshaft, a water pump shaft or an injection pump shaft of an internal combustion engine, having a drive wheel which is coupled to the shaft, having a drive means, and having at least one compensating mass which is relatively movable in the traction drive and having at least one actuating mechanism for moving the compensating mass. Here, the compensating mass is movable in or counter to the rotational direction of the shaft, and the actuating mechanism is formed as a tangentially acting actuator for moving the compensating mass. The invention also relates to a method for vibration reduction in a traction drive, having a driven shaft, a drive wheel and a drive means, wherein at least one actuating mechanism moves at least one compensating mass which is relatively movable in the traction drive, having the steps: activating the actuating mechanism, moving the compensating mass and generating a compensating torque at the driven shaft. In the case of a control drive with a camshaft adjusting system for the angular adjustment of the control time, the camshaft which is movable relative to the traction drive can simultaneously be used as a compensating mass for vibration reduction.
