A novel housing for an electronic device is located in the passenger compartment of a vehicle. The housing is used to maintain the temperature of the electronic device within its operating temperature range. The housing includes air inlets and outlets through which the temperature-regulated air current from the air conditioning system of the vehicle passes. The temperature-regulated air currents from the air conditioning system that are used to maintain a comfortable temperature in the passenger compartment are also used to regulate the temperature of the electronic device. Thus, the housing allows the temperature of the electronic device to be regulated exclusively using the air current from the air conditioning system. The air duct from the air conditioning system can be connected directly to the housing or can end a distance from the housing so that the air current from the duct is directed to strike the outside of the housing.

A system for capturing and displaying not directly-viewable spaces near a vehicle includes an apparatus for image capturing and an apparatus for image display. The apparatus for image capturing captures at least two arbitrary points Q and R. A ground plane is spanned by the Cartesian coordinates xv and yv, and xv lies in the vehicle middle plane. The display displays an image that includes an image Q' of the point Q and an image R&#x2032; of the point R on a display plane spanned by the Cartesian coordinates xv&#x2032; and yv&#x2032;, with xv&#x2032; lying on a reproduction of the vehicle middle plane. Monitoring of the close proximity around a commercial vehicle

A display device for visually depicting legally-prescribed fields of view of a commercial vehicle in a driver's cab of the commercial vehicle includes at least one display unit. The display device permanently and in real time displays at least two fields of view, which are legally-prescribed to be permanently displayed during operation of the vehicle, on the display unit in the driver's cab in a common image.
