A system includes a mobile computer programmed to receive, from a vehicle computer, an instruction to proceed to a location and vehicle operation data from an in-vehicle communications network. The mobile computer is programmed to determine that a vehicle is ready to proceed to the location based on the operation data. The mobile computer is programmed to receive user input approving transitioning from a boarding state to a driving state. The mobile computer is programmed to then instruct the vehicle computer to actuate vehicle components to proceed to the location.

Remote vehicle insturction

A vehicle computing system includes at least one processor configured to provide a lockout icon to a mobile device using a uniform resource identifier. The at least one processor is further configured to, in response to established communication with the mobile device having a user-interface display, retrieve the uniform resource identifier based on an application being executed at the mobile device. The at least one processor is further configured to transmit the uniform resource identifier to the mobile device to lockout the user-interface display with the lockout icon associated with the uniform resource identifier.

Vehicle computing systems and methods for delivery of a mobile device lockout icon

A system includes a processor configured to receive vehicle information including at least location and fuel level. The processor is also configured to determine a current estimated time-of-arrival (ETA) to an event-associated destination based on travel time from the location. The processor is further configured to determine a fuel-level impact on the current ETA. Also, the processor is configured to provide a remote party update, including the current ETA, responsive to the current ETA deviating from a previous ETA by more than a threshold deviance.

Method and apparatus for dynamic destination arrival time updating

A nomadic device may be configured to connect to a vehicle computing system (VCS) over a local connection and to a location service over a wide-area connection, receive point-of-interest data over the wide-area connection from the location service, and provide the point-of-interest data to the VCS over the local connection for use by a navigation application of the VCS. The VCS may be configured to connect over a local connection to a nomadic device configured to execute a location application to connect to a location service over a wide-area connection, receive user interface input requesting point-of-interest data for use by a navigation application of the VCS, and responsive to the input, send a command over the local connection to request the point-of-interest data from the location application.

Automated point of interest updates

A first computing device registers a first grammar that is stored in a persistent memory of the first computing device and that is a system grammar of the first computing device. The first computing device further registers at least one second grammar associated with an application stored in at least one second computing device. Input including may be received. The first grammar is selected for the command upon a determination that the input is specified as a command in each of the first grammar and the second grammar.
