A computing device includes a hinge rotatably coupling a first leaf including a touch display and a second leaf. A hinge angle sensor measures a hinge angle between the first leaf and the second leaf. An inertial measurement unit measures an orientation of one or both of the leaves. A first touch heat map is received from the touch display. Based on the touch heat map, hinge angle, and orientation, a posture probability is generated indicating a likelihood that the first touch display is in a candidate display posture, and an active probability is generated indicating a likelihood that the first touch display is an active display. One or more display characteristics of the first touch display are adjusted based on the posture probability and the active probability.

Examples are disclosed that relate to determining the relative orientation of computing device portions that are rotatable relative to one another. One example provides a computing device comprising a first portion comprising a first three-dimensional orientation sensor system, a second portion comprising a second three-dimensional orientation sensor system, the second portion being rotatable relative to the first portion, a logic machine, and a storage machine holding instructions executable by the logic machine to receive data from the first three-dimensional orientation sensor system indicating a three-dimensional orientation of the first portion, receive data from the second three-dimensional orientation sensor system indicating a three-dimensional orientation of the second portion, determine a relative orientation between the first portion and the second portion based on the three-dimensional orientation of the first portion and the three-dimensional orientation of the second portion, and adjust a function of the computing device based on the relative orientation.

Systems and methods for determining a colorimetric value from color measurements for multiple ambient color sensors which for each color measurement, in various approaches, select a lighting cluster similar to the color measurement and determine whether the color measurement is valid or invalid based on a calculated similarity between the color measurement and the selected lighting cluster, calculate a weight for the color measurement for combination with other color measurements based on the calculated similarity between the color measurement and its selected lighting cluster, determine whether the color measurement is valid or invalid based on perceptual color space distances for the color measurement for multiple reference light sources, and/or calculate a weight for the color measurement for combination with other color measurements based on the perceptual color space distances for multiple reference light sources.
