The present invention relates to a method of introducing nitrogen into a beverage container. The beverage container () includes a cylindrical neck part () having a circumferential rim () defining an opening (). The cylindrical neck part includes an outer circumferential flange () encircling the cylindrical neck part. A connecting element () having a circular closure plate () and a cylindrical housing () having a set of inwardly oriented locking parts () is positioned such that the cylindrical housing is at least partially covering the cylindrical neck part and a fluid path () is defined between the connecting element and the cylindrical neck part. A collar () having a gas inlet () is placed about the cylindrical neck part and gas is injected into the beverage container via the gas inlet. Finally, the connecting element is moved towards the cylindrical neck part for arresting the connecting element to the cylindrical neck part and sealing the circular closure plate against the circumferential rim.

A method of coating hydroxylated surfaces by gas phase grafting is described. Especially acyl groups, silyl groups and/or alkyl groups are located on the surface of materials by gas phase grafting. The grafting method is a dry process. The material to coat can be organic or inorganic materials. The produced surface coated material are strong and durable and material normally not water-proof can be water-proof due to the surface treating. Examples of items produced from surface treated material may be water-proof cardboard boxes, other containers, furniture, interior for cars and boats. Items produced from organic materials such as from plant parts are biodegradable.

The present invention relates to a beverage including dissolved and partially dissociated carbon dioxide present in an amount of 2-10 g/liter, such as 3-8 g/liter, preferably 4-6 g/liter, most preferably about 5.5 g/liter and establishing an equilibrium pressure at 10&#xb0; C. of 0.5-3 bar above atmospheric pressure, such as 1-2 bar, preferably about 1.5 bar. The present inventions further relates to a water insoluble or hydrophobic constituent present in molecular form or in molecular aggregated form and in an amount capable of generating ultra fine bubbles including gaseous carbon dioxide. The ultra fine bubbles are present in an amount exceeding 10ultra fine bubbles per milliliter, such as 10-10ultra fine bubbles per milliliter, preferably 10-10ultra fine bubbles per milliliter, most preferably about 10ultra fine bubbles per milliliter, when the beverage is exposed to an external isostatic pressure exceeding the equilibrium pressure of the beverage by at least 1.0 bar, preferably 1.2-60 bar, more preferably 1.5-10 bar, most preferably about 2 bar, the ultra fine bubbles having a major dimension smaller than 100 nm, such as 20-60 nm, preferably about 40 nm.

A self regulating and constant pressure maintaining product dispenser assembly comprises a dispensing device and a product container defining an inner space comprising a product space being filled with a fluid product constituting a carbonated beverage, and a pressure space being filled with a propellant gas having an initial pressure of preferably 0.5-1.8 bar above the atmospheric pressure when subjected to a specific temperature range of preferably 3&#xb0; C.-50&#xb0; C. The pressure space further comprises an amount of an adsorption material having adsorbed an amount of the propellant gas, which is sufficient for allowing the pressure space to increase in volume and to substitute the product space. The particular amount of adsorption material is inherently capable of substantially maintaining the initial pressure in the pressure space by releasing the propellant gas into the pressure space and adsorbing the propellant gas from the pressure space.

A method of filling a canister containing activated carbon having a first temperature with a propellant gas, wherein the method includes (a) providing a volume of liquefied propellant gas at a second temperature and a first elevated pressure that prevents it from evaporating; (b) evacuating the canister to create a vacuum within the canister, thereby cooling the activated carbon to a third temperature lower than the second temperature; (c) injecting the volume of liquefied propellant gas into the canister at a second elevated pressure that prevents it from evaporating; and (d) allowing the liquefied propellant gas to evaporate, consuming energy as evaporation heat, the energy being generated due to the propellant gas being adsorbed by the activated carbon, thereby reducing the heating of the activated carbon.

A beverage sterilisation device comprises a housing defining an inner space, and having a first and a second end. An electrically insulated fluid path-defining conduit extends through the inner space from the first end to the second end. A first electrode has a first part positioned adjacent to the fluid path and a second part extending perpendicular to the first part. A first counter electrode defines together with the first electrode a first capacitor, and a second electrode having a third part and a fourth part. The third part is positioned adjacent to the fluid path, and the fourth part extends substantially perpendicular to the third part. A second counter electrode defines together with the second electrode a second capacitor. The first counter electrode and the second counter electrode are short-circuited by an electrical connection, and a conductive device is electrically connected between the first electrode and the second electrode. A first trigger point is defined at the second part and remote from the first part, and a second trigger point is defined at the first counter electrode opposite to the first trigger point. The device further comprises an electrical activation circuit for short-circuiting the pair of trigger points and for causing an electric field to propagate from the first trigger point and along the fluid path.

A method and a system of cleaning and flushing a beverage dispensing system comprising a sealable pressure chamber for receiving a collapsible keg containing a beverage and a dispensing valve, comprises: providing a first cartridge containing a cleaning fluid, positioning the first cartridge in the pressure chamber and pressurizing the pressure chamber, opening the dispensing valve and dispensing the cleaning fluid from the dispensing valve, and causing the cleaning fluid to flow from the first cartridge through the dispensing line and being dispensed from the dispensing valve, disconnecting the first cartridge after the emptying of the cleaning fluid from the first cartridge, and removing the first cartridge, providing a second cartridge containing a flushing fluid, positioning the second cartridge in the pressure chamber and pressurizing the pressure chamber, and repeating the steps (iii)-(v) while using the second cartridge instead of the first cartridge.

The present invention relates to a module () for a modular pressure distribution system () comprising a plurality of modules. The module (28) comprises a frame () defining an outer periphery and a space defined within the outer periphery and a pressure chamber () for receiving a beverage container (), the pressure chamber being arranged within the space. The module further comprises a first type connector () and a second type connector () positioned at the outer periphery. A fluid path () establishes fluid communication from the first type connector to the second type connector. Module for a modular beverage distribution system

A method of stretch-blow-molding a beverage container for containing a carbonized beverage which method comprises providing a preform () having a neck part and a body part. The preform includes an inner layer () of a first polymeric composition, an outer layer () of a second polymeric composition, and an intermediate layer () of a third polymeric composition. The third polymeric composition has adhesive surface properties relative to the first and second polymeric compositions, and the adhesive surface properties are permanently degraded by exposure to irradiation of a certain wavelength or certain wavelengths and intensity. The method further comprises mounting the preform onto a stretch-blow-molding device and blow molding the preform into the beverage container by irradiating the body part with radiation at least including the certain wavelength or certain wavelengths and intensity while protecting the neck part from any substantial radiation.

Container

The invention is directed to lightweight hydrostatic containers. The containers have thin walls and other surfaces that are maintained in tension by the liquid contained in the containers. The body portion is substantially circular and has a plurality of recesses. The recesses strengthen the container and provide points where the container can axially collapse. On the lower end the container has a base with an upwardly extending inner portion. This inner portion extends upwardly at least the vertical dimension of a spout of the container. A shoulder is on an upper end of the body portion, the shoulder supporting an axial spout. The hydrostatic containers preferably are packed in cartons in double squares. The cartons have sidewalls that do not extend above the body portion of the containers. The carton bottom wall has openings in alignment with the upwardly extending inner portion of each hydrostatic container. In this way the spouts of containers in a lower carton fit into the upwardly extending inner portions of the hydrostatic containers of an upper carton.

A container set comprises a first container (21) adapted to be reused by being refilled with the contents of a second container (22) containing a product of a volume not exceeding the volume of the first container. The two containers (21 and 22) comprise mouth parts (33, 27) with guide faces allowing a coupling together of the containers in a position in which said containers are mutually immovable in radial direction. Furthermore, the mouth parts (33, 27) of the containers (21, 22) comprise co-operating sealing faces preventing the contents from leaking into the surroundings when the coupled containers are manipulated in order to transfer the contents from the second container (22) to the first container (21). The second container (22) preferably has a substantially superelliptic shape in any cross-sectional view parallel to the support engaging force of the container when the container is filled with the liquid product.
