A power transfer seat base includes a top fixed plate having a fixed stop attached to an upper surface thereof, a rotating plate mounted on the top fixed plate, the rotating plate having a rotating stop attached to a bottom surface thereof, and a user control interface box mounting bracket mounted on the rotating plate. An operating control having a rotation control switch and a directional control switch disposed on a user control interface box body that is mounted on the mounting bracket. The rotating plate is configured so that the rotating stop and the mounting bracket may be connected to the rotating plate at different positions. The power transfer seat also includes a mounting system that is configured to be connected to the base at different locations in a fore/aft direction and at different locations in a lateral direction.

Power transfer seat

A wheelchair lift arrangement configured to be installed in a preexisting structure includes a lift base assembly including a lift base plate and two supports attached to the lift base plate; and at least one installation bracket connected to each of the supports, respectively. Each installation bracket includes a horizontal portion and a vertical portion. The horizontal portion and the vertical portion of each installation bracket are each configured to connect the respective installation bracket and the lift base assembly to the preexisting structure at a separate location.

A ramp assembly includes a frame assembly, a ramp connected to the frame assembly, a drive member having first and second engagements, and a counterbalance mechanism cooperating with the drive member. The ramp is pivotable relative to the frame assembly and has a deployed position and a stowed position. The drive member is configured to move the ramp between the deployed position and the stowed position. The counterbalance mechanism includes a gas strut having a first end and a second end. The first end of the gas strut is secured to the frame assembly and the second end of the gas strut is movable relative to the frame assembly. The first and second engagements of the drive member are configured to engage the second end of the gas strut.

Energy damper-storage device for low floor vehicle access ramp

A bidirectional flow control valve for use in a hydraulic system to regulate fluid flow in either direction of flow through the valve. The valve includes a housing, a slidable sleeve, two opposite springs, and two opposite cap nuts. The housing has a bore and a sidewall with first ports located adjacent to one end and second ports located adjacent to the other end. The slidable sleeve has an interior wall disposed therein to form a first chamber and a second chamber. The interior wall has an axial port to permit flow of fluid therethrough. The first spring is disposed within the first chamber of the slidable sleeve and constrained therein by the cap nut. The second spring has the same tension as the first spring and disposed within the second chamber of the slidable sleeve and constrained therein by the cap nut. The slidable sleeve is self-adjustable to an equilibrium position within the valve housing to at least partially open the first and second ports of the valve housing.

Bidirectional flow control valve

An unity arm lever adaptor for use with a powered vehicular wheelchair lift. The unity arm lever adaptor is adapted for connecting together to a handrail, a vertical arm, a saddle or roller, and a vertical link of the wheelchair lift. The arm lever adaptor has an extended adaptor section, an elongated main section, and a pivotable yoke section. The main section has a pivotable end which is remote from the yoke section but adjacent to the extended adaptor section. The extended adaptor section is inserted through an opening on the vertical arm for adapting and securing to an end of the handrail. The pivotable end is pivotably connected to the vertical arm. The yoke section is pivotably connected to the saddle and the vertical link.

Arm lever adaptor for adapting a handrail of a wheelchair lift

A wheelchair lift, as for use with a vehicle, includes a platform for receiving a wheelchair carried as a pivot mechanism including two pairs of cooperating parallelogram structures adopted to be affixed to a vehicle for moving the platform between loading, entry and stowed positions by hydraulic actuation. A bridge plate structure is actuated by the pivot mechanism to be positioned as a bridge into the vehicle in the entry position, as a roll stop when a wheelchair is being carried and as a latch unit in the stowed position. A cam-cable mechanism actuates the bridge plate and the parallelogram structures of each pair are interlocked in moving between the stowed and entry positions.

Locking wheelchair lift

A removable vehicle seat is provided that allows for easy removal and reattachment of a vehicle seat to the floor of a vehicle. The design provides a simple structure which permits quick removal and reattachment by a single person but which is stable enough to remain attached to the vehicle floor in the event of an auto accident. The removable vehicle seat is particularly useful for vehicles which are utilized for transporting disabled persons in that removal of the vehicle seats allows for opening up space in a vehicle required for use by persons in wheelchairs.

Removable vehicle seat

A compact movable ramp assembly is provided that can be securely stored beneath a vehicle floor and safely and reliably operated. The ramp assembly comprises a mounting structure having a series of top panels that form the vehicle floor. The ramp assembly also includes a moveable platform that deploys outward from the mounting structure forming an extended ramp from the ground level to the vehicle to allow the passage of passengers across the platform into and out of the vehicle. The compact design of the ramp assembly is achieved by enclosing the motor unit within the ramp assembly and positioning the drive mechanism above the moveable platform but below the top panels of the mounting structure. The platform is formed of two portions pivotally connected by a hinge which enables the platform to pivot downward and allows the ramp assembly to be used in partial stages of deployment.

Compact moveable ramp assembly

A movable ramp assembly is provided that can be securely stored and safely and reliably operated. The ramp assembly includes a platform that is conveniently stored to travel with a vehicle and deployed in a motion pattern to allow the passage of passengers across the platform into and out of the vehicle. The motion pattern includes an upwardly inclined motion and a downwardly inclined motion which together accommodate most uneven terrain on which the vehicle may be parked. In the disclosed embodiment, the motion pattern of the platform is faciliated by cam guides formed within side beams of a mounting structure and cam followers provided on bracket arms supporting the platform at one end. As the cam followers follow the cam guides, the platform is pitched upwardly at an incline and then downwardly at an incline when the platform is deployed from storage. As part of the top panel of the mounting structure, a hinged panel is provided, having multiple functions. In the disclosed embodiment, the hinged panel is substantially horizontal when the platform is stored so as to serve as part of the operating passenger floor with the top panel. When the platform is deployed; however, the hinged panel is inclined downwardly to abut a threshold section of the platform at its free end, thereby bridging the platform and the top panel to form an extended ramp surface.

Movable ramp assembly

A vehicle lift, as for wheelchairs, incorporates a horizontally disposed load platform pivotally affixed to a laterally spaced-apart parallelogram elevating frame which is in turn pivotally affixed to a carriage, allowing a composite travelling assembly (platform, elevating frame and carriage) to be stowed in a mounting enclosure. A hydraulic ram actuates the parallelogram elevating frame mechanisms to position the platform at different terminal positions. At the stowing level, a pair of laterally spaced-apart rack-and-pinion mechanisms actuate the aligned platform, elevating frame and carriage inboard, on laterally opposed guide rails to be stowed in a mounting enclosure. A roll stop mechanism is affixed to the outboard end of the platform and is automatically actuated to move from a ramp position at ground level to a vertical safety stop position when the platform is elevated. A bridge plate mechanism is affixed to the inboard end of the platform to bridge the gap between the platform and the vehicle at vehicle floor level yet function as a vertical safety barrier at all other platform positions. A hinged handrail is fitted to each side of the platform for passenger safety.

Vehicle lifts

A hydraulic drive passenger lift with distinct lifting 'up and down' (loading, unloading) and 'fold-unfold' (storage) motion patterns, includes a flow control structure that accommodates various hydraulic flows, somewhat unrestricted for 'up-and-down' movement, and different for 'fold' and 'unfold' movements. The flow control structure includes multiple paths between a source and an actuator, with control for selecting the appropriate path to yield predetermined flow rates. A solenoid driven spool valve and a biased movable orifice member select the desired path. Accordingly, while the flow is substantially unrestricted during 'up-and-down' movement, it is somewhat restricted for reduced speed during the 'unfold' movement and is more restricted during the power-driven 'fold' movement.
