The disclosure includes controlling a pressure ratio for a compressing system, comprising introducing a quantity of liquid into an input stream to create a multiphase input stream, compressing the multiphase input stream with a centrifugal compressor to create a discharge stream, measuring a parameter of the discharge stream, wherein the discharge parameter corresponds to a pressure ratio for the centrifugal compressor, when the parameter exceeds a first predetermined point, increasing a pressure ratio of the centrifugal compressor by increasing the quantity of liquid introduced, and when the parameter exceeds a second predetermined point, decreasing the pressure ratio by decreasing the quantity of liquid introduced.

Controlling a wet gas compression system

The disclosure includes a centrifugal compressor, comprising an inlet configured to receive a gas stream, an outlet, and a liquid injection port configured to introduce a liquid into the gas stream and create a multiphase fluid, wherein the centrifugal compressor is configured to compress the multiphase fluid. The disclosure further includes a method of operating a centrifugal compressor, comprising passing a gas stream to a centrifugal compressor inlet, introducing a quantity of liquid into the gas stream to create a multiphase stream, and compressing the multiphase stream.

Wet gas compression

The present techniques are directed to a system and method for generating power and producing liquefied natural gas (LNG). The system includes a power plant configured to generate power, wherein an exhaust gas from the power plant provides a gas mixture including nitrogen and carbon dioxide. The system also includes a dehydration system configured to dehydrate the gas mixture to generate a nitrogen refrigerant stream and a refrigeration system configured to produce LNG from a natural gas stream using the nitrogen refrigerant stream.

Power generation and LNG production

Provided is a natural gas processing facility for the liquefaction or regasification of natural gas. The facility includes a primary processing unit, e.g., refrigeration unit, for warming natural gas or chilling natural gas to at least a temperature of liquefaction. The facility also has superconducting electrical components integrated into the facility. The superconducting electrical components incorporate superconducting material so as to improve electrical efficiency of the facility by at least one percent over what would be experienced through the use of conventional electrical components. The superconducting electrical components may be one or more motors, one or more generators, one or more transformers, switch gears, one or more electrical transmission conductors, variable speed drives, or combinations thereof.

Superconducting system for enhanced natural gas production

The present application is directed to a method and system for preparing gaseous utility streams from gaseous process streams, nitrogen process streams, and other types of streams. The methods and systems may include at least one swing adsorption process including pressure swing adsorption, temperature swing adsorption, and rapid-cycle adsorption processes to treat gaseous streams for use in dry gas seals of rotating equipment such as compressors, turbines and pumps and for other utilities. The systems and processes of the present disclosure are further applicable to high pressure gaseous streams, for example, up to about 600 bar.
