There is provided a medicament dispenser for use with plural elongate form medicament carriers, each having multiple distinct medicament dose portions carried thereby, the dispenser having a dispensing mechanism for dispensing the distinct medicament dose portions carried by each of the plural medicament carriers. The mechanism comprises a receiving station for receiving each of the plural medicament carriers; a release for releasing a distinct medicament dose portion from each of the plural medicament carriers on receipt thereof by the receiving station; an outlet, positioned to be in communication with the distinct medicament dose portions releasable by said a release; and an indexer for individually indexing the distinct medicament dose portions of each of the plural medicament carriers.

Medicament dispenser

A fluid dispensing device for dispensing a fluid product having a dispensing outlet from which the fluid product is dispensable, a supply of the fluid product, a dispensing member mounted for movement in a dispensing direction along an axis X-X from a first position to a second position which causes a dose of the fluid product in the supply to be dispensed from the dispensing outlet, and a finger-operable actuator member mounted for movement in an actuating direction which is generally transverse to the axis.

Metering method for particulate material

A drug delivery device for delivering to a patient a drug composition from a container which contains the drug composition where the container is adapted to be placed in a dispensing mode thereof on application of an actuating condition thereto is disclosed. The device includes a dispensing unit adapted to receive the container, the dispensing unit having an actuating mechanism operable to apply the actuating condition to the container and an outlet through which the drug composition is dispensable from the device, and a removable casing unit for the dispensing unit. The dispensing and casing units have securing features for releasably, fixedly securing the units together, and the dispensing unit is operable to apply the actuating condition to the container when fixedly secured to the casing unit and when independent from the casing unit.

An actuation indicator that includes a drum sub-assembly, which includes a rotatable actuation indicator wheel, a rocking, ratchet pawl for rotating the indicator wheel in a set direction and a rocking mechanism for the pawl driven by a slipping clutch arrangement, is described. The slipping clutch arrangement includes a slipping clutch spring engaged at one end to a pinion of a rack and pinion assembly and at a second end to the ratchet pawl.

A dispenser for dispensing a metered volume of a fluid product having a storage chamber for storing the fluid product, an outlet orifice through which the fluid product is dispensable from the dispenser and a metering chamber is disclosed. The metering chamber has an outlet opening which places the metering chamber in fluid communication with the outlet orifice, a transfer opening through which the fluid product is transferable between the storage and metering chambers, and a boundary wall structure which is cyclically movable between a first configuration, in which the transfer opening is opened, and a second configuration, in which the transfer opening is closed. Each cycle of movement which commences at, and ends in, the second configuration results in a metered volume of the fluid product being transferred from the storage chamber to the metering chamber via the transfer opening and dispensed from the outlet orifice via the outlet opening. The dispenser further has an actuation mechanism actuable by a user of the dispenser to cause a cycle of movement of the boundary wall structure. The actuation mechanism is adapted so as to dispose the boundary wall structure in the second configuration at the end of each cycle of movement caused thereby.

A method of controlling the functioning of a portable medicament dispenser, said portable medicament dispenser being for use with a refill container, said method comprising: (a) providing a memory for storing one or more parameters relating to the functioning of said dispenser; (b) storing authentication data for authenticating data for controlling a function of said dispenser; (c) receiving control data for said dispenser; (d) performing authentication of the control data using said stored authentication data; (e) in dependence on a result of the authentication, activating one or more parameters in said memory to control functioning of said dispenser in accordance with said control data, characterized in that the step (d) of performing authentication of the control data is performed by said refill container.

A method of controlling the functioning of a portable medicament dispenser, said method comprising: (a) providing a memory for storing one or more parameters relating to the functioning of said dispenser; (b) storing authentication data for authenticating data for controlling a function of said dispenser; (c) receiving control data for said dispenser; (d) performing authentication of the control data using said stored authentication data; (e) in dependence on a result of the authentication, activating one or more parameters in said memory to control functioning of said dispenser in accordance with said control data.

There is provided a medicament dispenser comprising a medicament container having a dispensing mechanism; a container seat for receipt of the container; an anchor station; and a coupling between said container seat and said anchor station capable on deformation of moving the container seat relative to the anchor station to actuate the dispensing mechanism. The coupling is reversibly deformable in response to the application of non-mechanical energy thereto. The non-mechanical energy may comprise heat energy, electrical current energy, electrical field energy or magnetic field energy.

There is provided a system for the delivery of medicament comprising a medicament container; a dispensing mechanism for dispensing medicament from the medicament container; an electronic data management system; and a communicator for wireless communication with a network computer system to enable communication of data between the network computer system and the electronic data management system. The electronic data management system comprises a memory for storage of data; a microprocessor for performing operations on the data; and a transmitter for transmitting a signal relating to the data or the outcome of an operation on the data.

Medicament delivery system

There is provided a method of forming a blister pack comprising contacting a base sheet having a blister pocket therein with a cover sheet and applying laser energy to form a join between said cover sheet and said blister pocket of said base sheet. The blister pack is preferably in the form of an elongate strip. The blister pack is suitable for the containment of a range of different products, particularly medicaments.

There is provided a carrier comprising a sheet () having a first portion and a second portion; a retainer () in said first portion for containment of product; a fold in said second portion such that the second portion is foldable towards said retainer to form a cover therefor; and a join between said cover and the retainer. The carrier is suitable for the containment of a range of different products, particularly medicaments.

There is provided a method for automatically tracking compliance in a manufacturing process involving successive manufacturing operations comprising selecting an object; associating an identifier with said object, said identifier comprising a memory; performing a first manufacturing operation relating to the object; following the successful completion of said first manufacturing operation, writing an associated compliance data item to the memory; performing one or more further manufacturing operations relating to the object; and following the successful completion of each said further manufacturing operation or any package thereof, writing an associated compliance data item to the memory.
