The present disclosure relates to a data/communications distribution box that forms an interior space which can be closed with a cover and a plurality of cable openings adapted to permit the passage of cable into and out of the interior space. Inside the interior space are a plurality of connector brackets which each include a plurality of mounting ports that are adapted to receive a variety of different types of connector modules which are used to connectorize data/communications wires and fibers.

Data/communications distribution box

A wire-connection terminal is formed with a mounting base portion having a bottom edge that is shaped to align with a top surface of a wire board. The mounting base portion forms a shoulder that protrudes a certain distance so that the terminal can be restrained by an outside part that confronts the shoulder when the terminal is mounted on the wire board. A wire-connection portion of the terminal projects above the mounting base portion, and a wire board mounting part or tail projects below the mounting base portion. The mounting part has a needle eye configuration for retaining the terminal by friction in a corresponding opening in the wire board on which the terminal is to be mounted.

Solderless mountable insulation displacement connector terminal

The invention is a modular cross-connect system which has a connector block having an array of connector jacks therein and which is mountable on a panel. The block has pivot pins for pivotally mounting it in an aperture in the panel, and the rear of the block has connectors thereon for connecting wires or other signal carriers to the connector jacks. The block can be pivoted to give access to the connectors from in front of the panel so that connections can be made, after which the block can be pivoted back to its operative position and latched in place. In a second embodiment of the invention, the block is supported by retaining clips extending from the front of the panel so that it can be supported in front of the panel during wiring after which it is inserted into an aperture in the panel and pivotally supported therein, with means on the block for latching it in place.
