Improved photovoltaic module backsheets, and processes for making the same, are disclosed, including nylon resin films filled with mineral additives, for use in photovoltaic laminated modules. The present disclosure provides nylon-11 and/or nylon-1010 films and mineral additives for use as backsheet materials in photovoltaic modules having improved thermal and humidity performance.

Endovascular stents capable of being cut from a flat piece of material are described. The endovascular stents may be bioabsorbable, multilayered and may have structural configurations allowing them to maintain low profiles in vivo. Methods of manufacturing endovascular stents and methods of using endovascular stents are also described.

Endovascular stents

A film of semi-crystalline poly(chlorotrifluoroethylene) or a semi-crystalline copolymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene which contain up to 5% comonomer units which film exhibits upon heat shrinking, no expansion in the direction perpendicular to stretching.

Chlorotriflouroethylene polymer oriented films

A film of a fluorocarbon copolymer of ethylene, and tetrafluoroethylene or chlorotrifluoroethylene, which upon heat shrinking in the longitudinal direction, does not expand in the transverse direction.

A perfluorocarbon copolymer film which, upon heat shrinking, does not expand in the direction perpendicular to stretching.

Perfluorocarbon copolymer films

Polymeric balloon having a burst pressure of at least 200 psi (1.4 MPa) and a radial expansion beyond nominal inflated diameter of less than 5% at 200 psi (1.4 MPa).

Process for transversely stretching polyethylene terephthalate film

An apparatus for stretching polymeric film is disclosed wherein a heating unit is located slightly above and between the parallel tracks of a tenter frame and wherein the heating unit includes an air duct with an air entrance opening and a series of apertures directed between the tenter frame tracks wherein the air duct is separated, by internal intermediate walls, into adjacent isolated zones extending parallel with the tracks of the tenter frame and wherein each isolated zone includes a heater. Air introduced into the duct is conducted through the zones where it is heated and directed through the apertures onto a web of polymeric film moving in the tenter frame prior to stretching.
