An Application Packaging Standard (APS) is a specification defining application's life cycle in a cloud. The application's life cycle includes packaging, delivering to the cloud, verification of package, integrating (and unpacking) into the cloud, distributing to clients, licensing, functionality, updates and deletion. The APS has its own Application Programming Interface (API) for accessing the APS functions from a program code or by http/https requests. The APS provides for efficient integration of SaaS web applications into the cloud.

Method and standard for integrating aplications into a cloud

A method for optimization of a standard TCP connection. The optimization is based on load distributions by a system kernel. A proposed architecture includes an application running a proxy-process. The application is connected locally to an assigned port (e.g., port). A number of connections N (for example 4) is established to a proxy server located on the cloud storage. Thus, the application is not directly connected to a front end server. Instead, it is connected to the proxy process via a local port. The proxy process transfers redistributed data streams to the proxy server on the cloud, which combines N data streams into one and passes it to the front end server residing on the cloud.

Optimization of packetized data transmission in TCP-based networks

A method for minimizing VMWARE&#x2122; snapshot lifetime, by reading data from a storage snapshot created on the VM storage side. The reading is performed by mounting the storage snapshot as a new datastore on an ESX(I) host and accessing the host using a standard VMWARE&#x2122; VDDK (vStorage API) method. A pre-configured source ESX(I) host contains a VM that needs to be backed up. A SAN storage connected to the ESX(I) host over iSCSI or FibreChannel or NFS protocols is used. The backup agent, which contains the proprietary code, is installed on a physical or a virtual machine connected to an ESX(I) host. This backup agent maintains the operations with the ESX(I) host and the SAN storage and coordinates the VM virtual disks data read and write operations. The backup agent contains the executable code, which provides compatibility with SAN storage and ESX(I) host.

A system and method for backup and recovery of user mobile device modules, settings and configurations. An example system includes a modular mobile device and a number of interconnected modules that can be connected to the mobile device. The device includes memory that stores configuration and setting parameters associated with each of the modules. In operation, a backup software utility monitors the configuration and setting parameters to detect additions and modifications and the transmits the detected additions and modifications to remote data storage to generate a data backup indicating a current state of the configuration and setting parameters. As a result, the modular mobile device can always return to a previous state for each module if it is replaced or the software is reinstalled, for example.

System and method for providing comprehensive backup of modular mobile devices

A user administers web hosting on user's server from his computer remotely. When a run time error is generated, an error message is sent to a server connected to a knowledge database. If the error matches the known error form the knowledge database, the user is provided an article with a solution to the run-time error. A system, method and computer program product for implementing a thin hypervisor. The thin hypervisor does not have any direct association with a VM. The thin hypervisor serves as a wrapper over hardware capabilities of a processor. The processor has privileged low-level capabilities EPT VTX, AMD V and the ARM has virtualization technology. In order to use processor hardware capabilities and receiving root privileges, the system operates in a 'super user' mode. The VM operates in a VM environment with kernel privileges in a user mode. A super user space is created in a safe mode. A user space application (or a process) is created. A user space virtualization framework library is used. These entities may be separated by a user space and a kernel (OS) space. A thin hypervisor is implemented in the user space.

System for providing a high availability (HA) of services, includes a plurality of nodes forming a cluster. Some nodes have services running on them such that the cluster has only a single instance of that service; node locks active while accessing the active nodes; a router providing access to services hosted on the nodes. Services utilize the resources subject to the node locks. An HA master daemon running on one of the nodes. HA daemons on each node track availability of services hosted on the nodes and generate requests to HA master daemon to restore failed services and redirect the router to live services. The HA daemons activate node locks. Master daemon re-launches services on another node and updates the router. A target node executes a lock revoke to acquire the node lock from the source node when the services of the source node are live-migrated from the source node.

Method for high availability of services in cloud computing systems

A method for optimizing lock detection in a change block tracker (CBT). A volume subject to the backup constantly receives writes. Therefore, it is important to divide writes that occurred before the lock and the write that occurred after the lock. The CBT is installed into kernel at the installation of the backup agent (application). The detection of changes is started at the completion of a previous snapshot. Snapshot creation request (SCR) is generated. Lock request is received by the CBT. Once the lock request is intercepted, the current changes are moved to frozen changes. The CBT processes the SCR and creates a collection of changes&#x2014;i.e., snapshot with a Name. The CBT moves the current changes to the snapshot Name.

A data backup application checks validity of data being backed up during an incremental or a full backup. In case of the file backup, the full backup checks the validity of data during the backup, because in case of data corruption the user will not have any original data since no data has been backed up yet. In case of the incremental backup, only the new files or the files that have changed compared to the last backup are now backed up. All new and modified files can be checked for validity by comparing internal format of the user files against a corresponding file format standard. If corrupted files are detected among the modified files, the user is notified.

The OS kernel and other server resources are not virtualized. Only selected components&#x2014;applications or resources are targeted for virtualization instead of virtualization of the entire system. Targeted virtualization provides for more flexible container isolation from each other and from a host node. This, in turn, provides for optimized more flexible cloud infrastructure. Each element within a container virtualization model is optional in terms of virtualization. The element's virtualization option can be turned on and off by an administrator or by a client who owns the container.

A method and computer program product for intercepting and blocking the mouse move and resize events on mobile devices transmitting remote application. The remote access client installed on the mobile device send the coordinates of user's touches to remote computer. The remote access agent, running on a remote host, blocks the consequences of user finger (or stylus) actions performed on a captured window of the remote application. The method defines the areas and elements of a captured remote application window that are not affected by the move/resize commands emulated by a mobile device user. This functionality is implemented by a control-agent component running on a remote host for receiving and processing the commands from a mobile device and for transmitting video stream and some metadata about remote applications to the mobile device.
