One or more processors obtain an indication of user input identifying a position of a mobile device within a vehicle. The processor(s) obtain a location of the mobile device with respect to a coordinate system that is independent of the vehicle. The processor(s) determine a location of the vehicle with respect to the coordinate system based at least in part on the location of the mobile device and the identified position of the mobile device within the vehicle. The location of the vehicle with respect to the coordinate system may be determined to sub-meter accuracy.

Aligning in-vehicle mobile device and vehicle bodies for improved global positioning

Radio maps for location and/or positioning services

Embodiments include apparatus and methods for route optimization in response to air flow for one or more wind section areas. The wind section areas may correspond to portions of an internal area of an intersection or an internal area of a pathway. The method include receiving weather data for a region including a geographic area corresponding to at least one path and accessing a 3D model for the geographic area corresponding to the at least one path. At least one air flow based on the weather data and the three-dimensional model is calculated to define wind sections in the geographic area corresponding to the at least one path. A weight is assigned to at least one of the of wind sections for route optimization in response to air flow through the wind sections.

Airflow modeling for route optimization

Embodiments include apparatus and methods for modeling air flow from flight responses in aerial vehicles. Sensor data is received for aerial vehicles in a geographic area. The pose (e.g., roll, pitch, and yaw) of the aerial vehicles is calculated from the sensor data. One or more wind vectors are calculated based, at least in part, on the pose. An air flow model is generated from the wind vectors.

Embodiments include apparatus and methods for dispatching package delivery by aerial vehicles. The embodiments include a route module, a wind model, and a dispatcher. The route module is configured to generate a route for package delivery. The wind model configured to store wind factors associated with geographic areas and provide one or more wind factors associated with the route for package delivery. The dispatcher is configured to identify one or more aerial vehicles for assistance of package delivery in response to the one or more wind factors associated with the route and send a message to the one or more aerial vehicles.

Delivery with swarming aerial vehicles

Example implementations may relate to making a determination of whether a mobile device is positioned indoors or outdoors. More specifically, processor(s) may detect that the mobile device is connected to a particular access point and may determine that the particular access point is stationary rather than moving. In response to determining that the particular access point is stationary, the processor(s) may determine (i) a distance between the mobile device and the particular access point, and/or (ii) a connection duration representing a length of time that the mobile device has been connected to the particular access point. Based at least on the determined distance and/or on the determined connection duration, the processor(s) may then make the determination of whether the mobile device is positioned indoors or outdoors.
