Device for facilitating pipeline repair

The device for the local repair or strengthening of an elongate body exhibiting a change in its integrity, by winding one or more layers of tape around the elongate body, comprises two half rings, each having two ends configured to come into contact with one another, means for moving the two half rings relative to one another until they surround the elongate body, without touching, and means for translating the two half rings relative to one another along an axis perpendicular to the axis of the elongate body until the ends of the half rings are in contact to form a ring surrounding the elongate body. In the embodiments, the device includes, on at least one of the half rings, at least one centering pin corresponding, in the other half ring, to an opening with a shape complementary to the shape of the centering pin.

Device for processing an elongate body

A reinforcement strip () suitable for repairing a fluid transport pipe () during which the strip is wound, under traction, around the portion of the pipe where the repair needs to be made at the same time that a crosslinking resin is applied to the strip in such a way as to form a sleeve around the portion to be repaired. The reinforcement strip includes at least one integrated metal wire, the electrical properties of the wire being used for operations including crosslinking the resin, detecting the portion of the pipe that includes the sleeve or detecting repaired portions of the pipe that have increased in diameter due to a thinning of the wall of the pipe.

Reinforcement strip for repairing fluid transport pipes

A retaining plate () made from a rigid material having tips on each of the two faces of same, the tips of each of the faces of a length of between 1 and 3 mm making an angle in the forward direction with the face of between 30&#xb0; and 60&#xb0;. The retaining plate is secured by the tips of one of the faces of same at the final end () of a first reinforcing strip () already positioned on the degraded portion of a pipe, and secured to the initial end () of a second reinforcing strip to be wound following the first reinforcing strip by the tips of the other face, said tips being tilted towards the initial end () of the second reinforcing strip.

Device and method for repairing an elongate body

A device for sealing a leak in a pipe () having at least one hole or crack (), including an elastomer plate () applied to the leak site by a force distributor (), and a tightening strap () arranged around the pipe in order to apply a force onto the force distributor. The force distributor includes a support grid and separate force modules, each of the modules being placed so as to be slidable in one of the units of the grid and arranged perpendicular to the pipe so as to apply shear forces to the elastomer plate at the leak site, forcing the elastomer to deform so as to closely match the concave or convex shape of the pipe at the leak site and thus to seal the hole or crack.
