A device attaches an engine to an aircraft. The device ( ) is inserted between the engine ( ) and a pylon ( ) designed to be attached to an aircraft structure, such as a wing or fuselage section. The attachment device ( ) generally includes two brackets ( ) joined together and secured to the pylon ( ) and two pairs of rods ( ) inserted between the two brackets ( ) and a part ( ) of the structure of the engine ( ). An aircraft propulsion system ( ) is connected to a strut, fixed to the wing or fuselage, by a fixing device comprising at least one rear mount ( ) and two front mounts ( ). A device for the attachment of an aircraft engine to a strut comprises a main attachment structure ( ) able to transmit normally to the strut forces exerted in two directions (X&prime;, Y&prime;), whereof one is mainly parallel to the longitudinal axis (OX) of the engine and the other mainly perpendicular to said axis and to a median plane common to the engine and the strut. A particularly simple and compact attachment device to be interposed between an aircraft engine casing (C) and a strut connected to the wing or fuselage of an aircraft, is designed so as to only transmit forces exerted in a single direction (OZ). The device comprises a crossbar ( ), articulated to an element ( ) fixed to the strut and also fulfilling an emergency function. The ends of the crossbar ( ) are connected to the engine casing (C) by rods ( ). The element ( ) is preferably formed from two parts ( ), each being able to transmit all the forces in the direction (OZ).
