An interchangeable plug device includes an electrical plug detachably mountable to a casing and movable between a detached and an operative position relative to the casing, and a releasable locking mechanism integral with the electrical plug to maintain the plug in an operative position. The locking mechanism can be released by a user to allow the plug to be moved to the detached position. A preferred form of locking mechanism is a depressible lock bar connected to or integral with an electrical plug body, which is designed to engage a detent in a casing. A preferred form of electrical connection between the plug and any casing comprises a submerged pin and sleeve configuration to protect the user or passerby from electric shock if the plug is detached from its operative position but remains a source of live current. A variety of interchangeable electrical plugs can preferably be fitted to the same casing.

Interchangeable plug device

A wireless headset system for use with, e.g. mobile phones, and which incorporates a wireless headset which communicates with a base station via magnetic inductive coupling or radio frequency signals to dial and send or receive calls via a conventional phone, e.g. a mobile phone, attached to the base station. In one embodiment, the mobile phone is carried in the base station which is worn by the user.

Modular wireless headset system for hands free talking

A modular, stackable battery pack and electronic accessory system which allows one or more batteries to simultaneously power one or more electronic accessories. The battery packs and accessories each have two opposing faces which are configured to releasable mate with each other and to provide electrical connection between the components. In some embodiments, the accessory is configured to be one of the terminal ends of the system, and thus has only one face with a releasable connector. The other face may be reserved for operation of the accessory. In other embodiments, the battery packs themselves may also comprise an electronic accessory. Accessories suitable in the practice of this invention include a cellular telephone, a PDA, a pager, a personal stereo (AM/FM radio or cassette, DAT or CD player), a calculator, an alarm clock, an electronic address book, a shaver, a solar powered battery pack recharger, a voice memo recorder, a tazer or a flashlight.

Modular stackable battery pack and accessories

A universal linear power supply capable of automatically supplying a regulated DC current output from a range of AC input. In one preferred embodiment, interchangeable modular electrical plugs configured to mate with standard AC supplies releasably connect with the power supply. The power supply circuitry comprises a two-winding step-down transformer, a rectifier and a DC/DC step-down buck converter. A projection on selected electrical plugs mechanically engages a switch on the power supply, connecting the primary coils of the transformer either in series or in parallel to accommodate 110 VAC or 220 VAC input. In another preferred embodiment, the invention comprises an electrical plug for accessing VAC input connected, releasably or permanently, to a power supply comprising a linear transformer, a full-wave rectifier and a DC/DC step-down forward converter which is capable of accommodating the full range of standard AC voltage. The interchangeable plugs may further comprise a releasable locking means mechanically connected to the casing and designed to engage the electrical plug to maintain the plug in an operative position.

Universal linear power supply

An integrated power supply and battery charger with interchangeable and collapsible plug capacity capable of simultaneously powering an electrical device while charging a rechargeable battery. Preferably, the power supply further comprises apparatus for facilitating use of the electrical device. In embodiments configured for use with a portable telephone, speaker phone apparatus or a separate headset may be provided to allow convenient use of the telephone while it is being powered by the invention.

Universally interchangeable and modular power supply with integrated

A power supply with interchangeable plug capacity and interchangeable power input modules includes a casing, an electrical plug detachably mounted in the casing, allowing the user to accommodate various power source configurations and voltage supply levels without manually setting the unit for the available power source, resulting in increased user safety and convenience. Releasable locking mechanisms are included to engage the interchangeable electrical plug. The locking mechanisms can be released by a user to allow the plug to be moved to the detached position. A preferred form of electrical connection between a detachable plug and casing comprises a submerged conductor configuration to protect the user or passerby from electric shock. A variety of interchangeable electrical plugs can be fitted to the same casing for interface with a transformer in the power supply casing. Each such plug is internally wired to configure the primary windings of the transformer automatically to present a substantially constant AC voltage at the secondary windings of the transformer irrespective of the magnitude of the supply voltage standard.

Interchangeable plug power supply with automatically adjusting input

A collapsible battery charger having a casing with one or more folding supports that generally conform to the casing when closed and that provide receptacles when opened that position rechargeable batteries so as to form an electrical connection between the batteries and the charger. Preferably, an electronic circuit for converting supplied ac or dc current to dc current suitable for recharging batteries is housed in the casing. Interchangeable cords with a variety of plug conformations adapt the charger to standard electrical outlets. The folding supports can accommodate batteries of varying size and capacity and preferably are configured to mate with structural features on the intended batteries in order to securely support and accurately position the batteries on the charger. In a preferred form of the invention, the casing comprises a first support that pivots open to an obtuse angle and a second support that pivots open to an acute angle. In an alternative embodiment, the first support slides laterally in conjunction with pivoting open. The first support is configured to receive a battery that is attached to an electronic device and to allow operation of the electronic device while the battery is in connection with the charger.

An integrated power supply and battery charger with interchangeable and collapsible plug capacity and interchangeable power input modules includes a casing, an electrical plug detachably mounted in the casing and including collapsible prongs, allowing the user to accommodate myriad combinations of power source configurations, electrical devices and rechargeable batteries therefore and to power and charge same in a safe and convenient manner. A cradle accommodates a battery to be charged. Releasable locking mechanisms are included to both engage the interchangeable electrical plug and battery and to lock the collapsible prong in the extended position. The locking mechanisms can be released by a user to allow the plug or battery to be moved to the detached position. A preferred form of electrical connection between a detachable plug and casing comprises a submerged pin and sleeve configuration to protect the user or passerby from electric shock. A preferred form of conducting prong is collapsible within the carrier and is securable in an extended position to avoid inadvertent collapse. A variety of interchangeable electrical plugs can be fitted to the same casing. A power supply is preferably fitted within the casing, allowing an electrical device to be attached to the device while the device is also acting as a battery charger. A collapsible stand is provided to enable the user to easily utilize both the battery charging and power supplying abilities of the inventive device in tandem.

A collapsible plug device includes a casing, an electrical plug rotatably mounted in the casing and movable between a collapsed and an extended position, and a releasable locking mechanism connected to the casing and designed to engage the electrical plug to maintain the plug in an extended position. The locking mechanism can be released by a user to allow the plug to be moved to the collapsed position. A preferred form of locking mechanism is a slidable lock bar which is designed to engage a detent in a rotatable shaft which is connected to or integral with an electrical plug body. A cradle or attachment can be integrated into the casing, with an electrical connection and a mechanical connection so that a rechargeable battery or a device containing such a battery can be electrically and mechanically attached to the cradle. Alternatively, a cable can be fitted with a power adapter plug and electrically connected to the basic device. A power supply within the casing allows the rechargeable device to be attached to the collapsible plug device and plugged directly into a wall socket.

An electrical adapter plug insertable into cigarette lighter-type sockets of varying diameters. The plug features a flexible dimpled member integrally joined with the periphery of the plug to provide a variable outer plug diameter. An internal spring provides an outwardly biasing force to increase resistance against vibration and jarring and improve retention of the plug within the socket.

A collapsible prong plug device includes a casing, an electrical plug with one or more prongs rotatably mounted in the casing and movable between a collapsed and an extended position, a securing means designed to engage the electrical plug to maintain the plug in an extended position, and a releasable securing means. The securing means can be released by a user to allow the plug to be moved to the collapsed position. A preferred form of securing mechanism is a spring and a preferred form of release means is a slidable collapse bar, designed to engage and rotate the prongs. A cradle or attachment means can be integrated into the casing, with an electrical connection and a mechanical connection so that a rechargeable battery or a device containing such a battery can be electrically and mechanically attached to the cradle. Alternatively, a cable can be fined with a power adapter plug and electrically connected to the basic device. A power supply within the casing allows the rechargeable device to be attached to the collapsible prong plug device and plugged directly into a wall socket.
