A chest pad that significantly reduces the occurrence of commotio cordis among athletes is disclosed. The chest pad may be utilized as a stand-alone chest protector intended to provide coverage primarily for the upper chest wall and the cardiac area. The chest pad may also be implanted into or utilized in traditional chest protectors that provide full coverage of the user's torso. The chest pad provides additional protection to the heart of the wearer such that impact in the heart area with a projectile is absorbed by the chest pad.

Chest protector

A garment includes a waistband having a first face and a second face, with a first support structure affixed to the first face and a second support structure affixed to the second face. The waistband is selectively adjustable between a first arrangement that provides the garment with a first style and fitting, and a second arrangement that provides the garment with a same style and different fitting.

An ergonomic faceguard for a helmet, and a helmet including the ergonomic faceguard; the faceguard including a wire grid having a plurality of horizontal wires. The plurality of horizontal wires includes a horizontal wire configured to extend proximate to a user's chin, the horizontal wire including a pair of lateral sections for engaging a shell of a helmet and a front section extending between the lateral sections, with the lateral sections extending along a common plane and the front section deviating from the plane along which the lateral sections extend. The front section has an anterior point that is elevated at a height that is greater than a height of the lowest point in the front section.

An apparatus for practicing baseball batting includes a base formed of a rubber block, an upright detachably fastened to the top center of the base with a screw, a rubber stem detachably fastened to the top end of the upright, a tubular ball holder disposed above the stem and adapted to hold a ball for batting, and a peripherally grooved flexible rubber tube detachably coupled between the ball holder and the rubber stem and adapted to absorb shocks during batting.

Apparatus for practicing baseball batting

A chest protector formed of a base, upper and lower shoulder straps for securing the base to the user's chest, a neck pad and a number of cushions mounted on the base, the cushions having air vents in communication with air vents in the base for ventilation, colored breathing cloths fastened to the base and covered on the cushions for breathing and decoration, and a substantially triangular saddle strap coupled between said upper shoulder straps and said lower shoulder straps to keep upper and lower shoulder straps in close contact with the user's back comfortably.

Structure of chest protector

A belt fabrication method includes the steps of tailpiece formation procedure, keeper and belt head formation procedure, belt body formation procedure, and final fixation procedure. During the keeper and belt head formation procedure, a split is formed in one end of the headpiece, so that the front end of the belt body can be engaged into the split of the headpiece and then fixedly fastened to the headpiece by stitches.

Belt fabrication method

A baseball chest protector includes a protector pad to which is united a chest protector harness. The chest protector harness includes a generally Y-shaped harness back portion defined by a juncture portion, a pair of upwardly diverging arms and a generally downwardly projecting leg formed as a single piece of injection-molded synthetic polymeric or copolymeric material. A lower harness portion or spine portion is also formed as a single injection-molded piece of synthetic polymeric or copolymeric material and is united by an adjusting buckle to the leg or first part of the upper back harness portion. Adjusting buckles also adjustably secure a pair of elastic webs to the arm portions of the Y-shaped harness back portion and the elastic webs are each in turn secured by two injection molded harness top tab portions to shoulder areas of the protector pad of the baseball chest protector.

Chest protector harness

A sports belt, particularly a baseball belt, which includes from one end to the other a buckle, a buckle tab portion, a loop, an elongated belt mid-portion which is preferably adjustable and a tail tab portion. The tail tab portion and the buckle tab portion are each constructed from a single piece of injection molded synthetic polymeric/copolymeric plastic material. The tail tab portion is injection molded with a slot between two connecting tabs into which is slid a terminal end of the mid-portion of the belt which is stitched and/or adhesively bonded thereto. The buckle tab portion is defined by central and opposite end portions with intermediate portions of lesser thickness therebetween about which the buckle tab portion can be folded to unite thereto a buckle and a looped portion of the elastic belt mid-portion.
