According to one aspect, there is provided a method of selectively solidifying successive layers of build material in a 3D printing system. The method comprises obtaining data relating to a 3D object to be generated, forming a layer of build material on a build platform, applying to the formed layer a pattern of fusing agent corresponding to a portion of the layer to be solidified to form a layer of the object, applying to the formed layer a pattern of anti-caking agent on portions of the formed layer that are not to be solidified to form a layer of the object, and applying energy to the whole of the formed layer to cause portions of the layer on which fusing agent was applied to heat up, melt, coalesce, and then solidify upon cooling, and to cause portions of the formed layer on which anti-caking agent was applied to control caking of build material in those portions.

Reducing caking of build material

In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a fluidic die is described. The fluidic die includes a surface on which a number of nozzles are formed. An electrical interface on the fluidic die establishes an electrical connection between the fluidic die and a fluidic die controller. The electrical interface includes 1) a bond pad disposed within a bond pad region of the surface and 2) an electrical lead coupled to the bend pad to establish an electrical connection between the fluidic die and the fluidic die controller. The fluidic die also includes a beveled edge along an edge of the surface underneath the electrical lead.

A fluid ejecting device including a die including a perimeter defined by a first edge, a second edge opposing the first edge, a third edge, and a fourth edge opposing the third edge, wherein the third and fourth edges are disposed at an angle to the first and second edges to form angular corners, an active area including circuitry for controlling the fluid ejecting device to eject fluid, an inactive area positioned between the perimeter and the active area, and a termination ring encircling the active area, the termination ring including sides extending parallel to the first, second, third, and fourth edges and corners coupling adjacent sides, the corners having a corner radius greater than a first distance between the first edge and one of the sides of the termination ring, and a nozzle to eject fluid.

A thermal inkjet printhead may include a passivation layer, a bond pad formed over the passivation layer and insulating strips of a dielectric material formed over the passivation layer on opposite sides of the bond pad.

Thermal inkjet printhead

A thermal inkjet printhead is described. The thermal inkjet printhead comprising a passivation layer and a plurality of bond pads formed over the passivation layer. The thermal inkjet printhead further comprises a plurality of insulating strips formed over the passivation layer. The insulating strips are formed such that two adjacent bond pads are separated by an insulating strip, from among the plurality of insulating strips. Further, each of the plurality of the insulating strips is of a dielectric material.

Methods and apparatus are provided related to fluid dispensing heads. A dispense head is formed to define a plurality of fluid jetting nozzles and a surface pattern. The surface pattern is characterized by one or more voids extending inward from an outer surface of the dispense head. Fluid puddle formation during operation of the dispense head is limited in volume by way of the surface pattern. Fluid puddle limiting reduces or eliminates dispensing errors to an entity, undesirable artifacts from resulting on a printed media, or similar problems.

A fluid ejection device includes one or more digital data storage arrays having plural EPROM cells. A method for affirming performance adequacy of EPROM cells in the one or more arrays includes the steps of identifying a reference cell in each array, measuring a selected performance criterion for the reference cells, obtaining a reference criterion value, and evaluating the actual performance of at least one cell in each array with respect to the reference criterion value.

Fluid ejection device and method

One embodiment of a display system includes a control module that controls an adjustable aperture based on a calculated aperture setting and that applies a calculated gain setting to a set of frame data to define a modified set of frame data, an image analysis module that calculates a gain setting and an aperture setting for said set of frame data and forwards said calculated gain setting and said aperture setting to said control module, and a frame data buffer that stores said set of frame data during calculation by said image analysis module.

Display system

A modulator is controlled in accordance with each sub-frame of a frame of image data. An aiming mechanism is physically adjusted to differently aim each sub-frame. Acoustical noise in physically adjusting the aiming mechanism is reduced.

A fuse structure is described. The fuse structure includes a first region adapted to be coupled to a voltage source, a second region adapted to be coupled to a ground, and a current flow region disposed between the first and second regions. The current flow region has a configuration that causes a void to be opened at a point of localized heating due to current crowding within the current flow region and that causes the void to propagate across the current flow region.
