A device and a method in processing, such as pharmaceutical processing, is provided. At least one signal is transmitted in a processing structure which is adapted to receive materials. The propagated signal is received and a parameter value thereof is compared with a reference value. The presence of materials or any other geometrical change in the processing structure is evaluated based on the comparison. The signal may be in the form of an electromagnetic wave, e.g. a microwave. Also, a use of a processing vessel, or a pipe connected to such a vessel, is provided.

Methods and devices for evaluating material in a pharmaceutical process

A method related to a process for treating pharmaceutical contents in a pharmaceutical processing vessel is provided. The contents have a number of predefined parameters of variable values. According to the method electromagnetic radiation of various frequencies is transmitted into the vessel and its contents. Electromagnetic radiation which has interacted with the contents is received. Based on the received electromagnetic radiation, a respective value of a physical quantity related to the contents is determining for a plurality of said frequencies. A combination of values of said predefined parameters which would, for said plurality of frequencies, approximately result in the determined values of said physical quantity is determined.

Spectroscopic method

The present invention relates to apparatuses for use in performing a quantitative analysis of a turbid pharmaceutical sample, e.g. a tablet, a capsule or a similar sample forming a pharmaceutical dose. A pharmaceutical, turbid sample () is irradiated with an excitation beam () of radiation, e.g. near infrared radiation. The intensity of emitted radiation () from the sample () is detected as function of both the wavelength of the emitted radiation and the photon propagation time through said sample (). Optionally, the intensity of the emitted radiation () from the sample () is also detected in a spatially resolved manner.

Measuring technique

The present invention relates to a method for coating of a pharmaceutical product. The method comprises the step of producing discrete droplets () of controlled size, shape and composition with at least one micro dispenser () and distributing droplets () with controlled velocity, time of flight. Also, the method comprises the step of controlling the production frequency and modulation of the droplets (). Further, the method comprises the step of controlling the flow rate, temperature and composition of the carrier gas and directing droplets () towards particles () subjected to coating. The present invention also relates to a device for coating of a pharmaceutical product. The device comprises a droplet producing unit () and a droplet-directing unit (). The droplet producing unit () is a piezo-actuated micro dispenser () for producing discrete droplets () and controlling the size, shape and composition of said droplets ().

Method and device for coating pharmaceutical products

The present invention relates to a method for analysing the amount of free gas within a pharmaceutical sample. According to the invention the method comprises the following steps: providing a sample before an irradiating source; irradiating the sample with at least one beam of electromagnetic radiation; detecting radiation emitted through the sample and generating signals corresponding to the amount of free gas in the sample, and correlating the generated signals to at least one solid state parameter of the sample.

Mixing apparatus

In a method of monitoring the formation of a coating on a single particle (P), an apparatus is used which comprises means () for arranging said particle (P) at a given spatial location, and a fluid supply unit () adapted to apply a coating fluid to the particle (P) such that the coating is formed. Further, the apparatus has a measurement unit () which is adapted to perform a spectrometric measurement on the coating during formation thereof, and to derive a measurement value of at least one principle parameter related to the coating. This, such principle parameters, for example the thickness, thickness growth rate and physical and/or chemical properties related to the quality of the coating, as well as heat, mass and momentum transfer, can be continuously and non-invasively monitored during the coating process on the single particle (P). The results of such measurements can be used to understand the coating process on the single particle (P), and ultimately to control, up-scale and develop industrial full-scale coating plants.
