The present invention provides an exhaust system for use on a motorcycle having an internal combustion engine with at least one exhaust port, the exhaust system including a first tubular member having a first end removeably coupled to the exhaust port of the internal combustion engine, and a second end, opposite the first end, forming a first connector. Where the first tubular member also includes a catalytic element positioned within the first tubular member between the first end and the second end, and where the first tubular member is gas-tight such that all exhaust gas entering the first end must pass through the catalytic element before exiting the second end. The exhaust system also includes a second member removeably coupled to the first connector of the first member, the second member having one or more baffles positioned therein.

Multi-piece muffler housing

The present invention provides an air intake assembly including a first portion defining a first chamber through which airflow passes. The first portion is coupled to a first throttle member to allow communication from the first chamber to the first throttle member. The air intake assembly also includes a first filter element coupled to the first portion and positioned upstream of the first chamber, and a second portion defining a second chamber through which airflow passes. The second portion is coupled to a second throttle member to allow communication from the second chamber to the second throttle member. The air intake assembly further includes a second filter element coupled to the second portion and positioned upstream of the second chamber, and a conduit coupling the first and second portions. The conduit allows communication between the first and second chambers at a location downstream of the first and second filter elements.

Dual-sided air intake assembly with crossover

A muffler for a motorcycle, the muffler including an outer tube and an inner tube disposed substantially within the outer tube. The inner tube includes a first end adapted to receive the exhaust gases from the engine, a second end opposite the first end adapted to release the exhaust gases to the environment, and first and second apertures positioned between the ends. The muffler also includes a mesh tube disposed between the outer tube and the inner tube. The mesh tube defines a chamber between the inner tube and the mesh tube such that the exhaust gases exit the inner tube through the first aperture into the chamber, and exit the chamber into the inner tube through the second aperture. The muffler also includes a noise attenuating material disposed between the mesh tube and the outer tube.

Muffler for a motorcycle

The present invention provides a method of operating a dynamic exhaust system of a motorcycle engine. The method includes providing a valve in the exhaust system that is movable to direct exhaust gases between a first flow path through the exhaust system and a second flow path through the exhaust system. The method includes actuating the valve at a first speed to redirect exhaust gases from the first flow path to the second flow path and actuating the valve at a second speed greater than the first speed to redirect exhaust gases from the second flow path to the first flow path.

Motorcycle dynamic exhaust system

An exhaust system for use with a four-stroke engine having first and second cylinders. The cylinders generate exhaust pulses at uneven time intervals with respect to each other. The exhaust system includes a muffler and first and second exhaust pipes that communicate between the mufflers and the first and second cylinders, respectively. The first and second pipes being sized and shaped to deliver the exhaust pulses to the muffler at even time intervals with respect to each other.
