The present invention relates to a dispensing closure comprising a base element, which can be attached to a neck of a container, a flip-top lid, being attached to said base element by a hinge and being movable between a closed and an opened position, and a tamper-evident element extending in a circumferential direction around at least part of the circumference of said dispensing closure, wherein the tamper-evident element has at least one weakening region extending at least over part of the height of the tamper-evident element and/or wherein a shoulder region of the base element, to which frangible elements of the tamper-evident element are attached, is inclined such that it declines in an outward direction of the base element.

A closure () is provided for a container (). In one particular embodiment, the closure () has a base () and a lid (). The base () defines a recess () having a dispensing orifice (). On either side of the recess (), the base () has a rim portion () that defines a support surface (). The front region of the base () has a sloping front surface (). The lid () has a rear end connected with a connecting structure () to the closure base (), and has a front end with a lid finger lift surface (). When the lid () is closed, the front end of the lid () is located rearwardly of at least the lower end of the base sloping front surface (), a major portion of the lid () is located between the base rim portions (), and the lid () is located below the support surface () of each rim portion ().

A closure that can be threadingly screwed onto an associated container includes a body having a thread form for engaging a thread form on the container. The body has a wall with projecting hook-like ribs. By the provision of the hook-like ribs, the closure exhibits an enhanced capability for being gripped by the rollers of an automatic capping machine, to accommodate a relatively high torque installation without slipping in an automatic capping machine.

A closure is provided for a container opening. The closure includes a body for mounting to the container and a lid movable between a closed position and an open position. The lid and body are connected by a bistable, snap-action hinge structure having a web between two hinges. Stress-relief recesses are provided at an end edge of either the body hinge or the lid hinge or both.
