A system for tracking a position and an orientation of an external device such as a smart watch or a handheld controller relative to a head mounted display (HMD) device is provided. A combination of active markers and passive markers on the external device may be detected by a point tracking camera of the HMD to collect position data for the external device relative to the HMD. Acceleration and/or orientation data of the external device relative to the HMD may be collected from an inertial measurement unit(s) (IMU(s)) of the external device and/or the HMD. The fusion of the position data with the data collected by the IMU(s) may allow for tracking of the external device relative to the HMD.

Doorbell camera systems are provided to include a doorbell camera subsystem and a chime subsystem both coupled to receive power from an alternating current power source. The doorbell camera subsystem may include, among other features, a camera module and a doorbell button. The chime subsystem may include, among other features, a current compensation network and chime driver circuitry operative to be coupled to a chime. The current compensation network is operative to dynamically adjust current consumption of the chime subsystem and current consumption of the doorbell camera subsystem during both a standby mode and a doorbell event mode.

Doorbell camera systems are provided that can include a doorbell camera subsystem and a chime subsystem. The doorbell camera subsystem may include, among other features, a camera module and a doorbell button. The chime subsystem may include, among other features, a battery and electronics that interface with a chime such as existing doorbell chime or a speaker. The battery is co-located with the chime subsystem and away from the doorbell camera subsystem. Co-locating the battery with the chime subsystem removes the battery from potentially harsh environmental conditions it would otherwise be subjected to if it was co-located with the doorbell camera subsystem.
