Markup language inputs are received for generating a markup language description of an item to be rendered. The markup language inputs include in-line metadata describing a transformation to be performed on a data item before it is rendered. The markup language description, including the in-line metadata describing the transformation, is generated and presented for transformation and rendering.

Describing data transformations using markup language extensions

Real-time media optimization may be provided. First, a remote session may be established with a remote computing device. Then, during the remote session, non-real-time media data may be exchanged with the remote computing device over a server path. Moreover, real-time media data may be exchanged with the remote computing device over a media path during the remote session.

A uniform approach for web service discovery is provided through common auto-discovery logic for cloud-based or enterprise-based deployments for a specific web service. Appropriate credentials may be applied employing a uniform method using an appropriate authentication scheme for on-premise, fully hosted, or partially hosted auto-discovered web services. A common interface may be implemented even if the protocols for discovery differ from service to service or between cloud-based deployment and enterprise-based deployment for the same service. A park request is received from a first computing system. The park request is a request to park a conversation between a user of the first computing system and a user of a second computing system. The park request conforms to a protocol that supports parking and unparking of conversations having a first modality and conversations having a second modality. Furthermore, an unpark request is received from a third computing system. The unpark request is a request to unpark the conversation. Referral information is sent to the third computing system. The referral information enables the third computing system to establish a communication session to carry the conversation.

Protocol architecture for wiring media streams and specifying mixing behavior in a multipoint control unit. The protocol provides the capability to expose the core mixing algorithms to modification for mixing media without dealing with the functionality of the mixer itself (e.g., ports and IP specifics). The protocol facilitates the wiring of input media streams to output media streams by changing the mixing behavior via changes to the mixing algorithms using the protocol. The protocol operates based on a schema that includes controls related to route, wire, and filter for the mixer input and mixer output.

Communicating information pertaining to cancelling of forked call requests

The entry and transmission of notes to recipients along the conversation chain. Notes can be created based on an incoming caller. The notes can be transmitted to the conversation recipient for viewing before, during, and after the recipient accepts the conversation. This is facilitated by a communications client that operates to allow entry of the notes, and forwarding of the call recipient via a SIP framework. Moreover, notes previously taken and/or information provided manually and/or automatically by the communications system can be provided to an agent (e.g., ACD, receptionist) receiving the conversation, at any point in the conversation chain for quick identification not only of the conversation source but of previous information already collected.

A pluggable token provider model for message level authentication across multiple web services is provided. Web service and token provider implementations within a client application are separated from an actual component that operates the business logic to formulate and understand a web request. The web service components may request web services to be executed and supply the body for the web service message while a common framework maintains the web services metadata, which includes definitions associated with respective tokens. The framework may further maintain token provider implementations that actually fetch authentication tokens and perform the web requests.

Pluggable token provider model to implement authentication across multiple web services

Disclosed herein are embodiments for validating a user joining a conferencing session. According to various embodiments, a first identifier is received. A user is identified from a plurality of users based at least in part on the first identifier. A second identifier is received that corresponds to the first identifier and the user and the user is validated based on both the first identifier and the second identifier. The user may then join the conferencing session, with the user's identity being revealed to others attending the conferencing session.

Integrating enterprise identity authorization in conferences

Service invocation information including call routing, reasons for redirections, and similar information are provided to party requesting a communication session and recipients of an enhanced communication system along the call routing path as the request is routed. Some of the information is filtered based on system and/or user defined rules, user permission levels, and comparable aspects.

Conveying service invocation information within multimodal conversation systems

Subscribers of an enhanced communication system are enabled to indicate invocation or clearing of media specific features such as music-on-hold or video-on-hold. The invocation or clearing is transmitted to participating end points as a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) re-INVITE message with Session Description Protocol (SDP) attribute descriptions identifying the feature, applicable media channels and whether the message is for invocation or clearing of the feature.

Techniques include managing a multimedia conference call. An apparatus may comprise a wireless device having at least one wireless transceiver and a conference call manager module. The conference call manager module may establish a voice connection and a data connection for a multimedia conference call using the wireless transceiver, the voice connection to communicate media information and the data connection to communicate conference call event information during the multimedia conference call.
