A hybrid cellular and non-cellular multi-hop communication device, including a hand-held wireless device having one or more antennas, a cellular wireless interface connected to at least some of the one or more antennas, and a non-cellular wireless interface connected to at least some of the one or more antennas. The non-cellular wireless interface may include a rate allocator configured to select a physical-layer rate of transmission of data from the non-cellular wireless interface based on a queue length of data to be transmitted from the hand-held cellular device and a transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit data from the queue and adjust physical-layer transmission parameters based on a physical-layer rate selected by the rate allocator.

Methods and apparatuses for relaying data in wireless networks

A method, system, or computer program product to enhance the performance of multi-hop cellular networks or other wireless networks is provided. A wireless device (e.g., cellular telephone) is able to communicate with a base-station in a cell of the cellular network over a non-cellular interface via another wireless device in the cell through the use of multi-hopping. By enabling wireless devices to communicate with a base station in such a manner, the effective coverage area of the cellular network is expanded and the effective capacity of the cellular network is improved. Distributed routing, device management, adaptive scheduling, and distributed algorithms can be used to enhance the overall performance of multi-hop cellular networks.

A system and method for mitigating self-interference in mmWave systems. A transceiver can include a mutual precoder controller that controls both an analog/RF beamforming circuit and a digital/BB beamforming circuit to prefer beams directed along paths in the local RF environment that minimize self-interference. In other cases, a transceiver can include one or more self-interference filters to internally mitigate self-interference.

Self-interference mitigation in in-band full-duplex communication systems

Methods and apparatus for interference cancelation in a radio frequency communications device are described. In various embodiments a signal to be transmitted in converted into an optical signal and processed using an optical filter assembly including one or more optical filters to generate an optical interference cancelation signal. The optical interference cancelation signal is converted into an analog radio frequency interference cancelation signal using an optical to electrical converter prior to the analog radio frequency interference cancelation signal being combined with a received signal to cancel interference, e.g., self interference. The optical filter assembly can include a large number of taps, e.g., 30, 50, 100 or more. Each tap may be implemented as a separate optical filter or series of optical filters. Delays and/or gain of the optical filters can be controlled dynamically based on channel estimates which may change due to changes in the environment and/or communications device position.

Distributed rate allocation and collision detection in wireless networks

A method, system, and architecture for efficiently accessing data in a memory shared by multiple processor cores that reduces the probability of bank conflicts and decreases latency is provided. In an embodiment, a method for accessing data in a memory includes determining, by a scheduler, a read pattern for reading data from memory to serve requests in a plurality of bank queues, the memory comprising a plurality of memory banks and a plurality of coding banks, the coding banks storing a coded version of at least some of the data stored in the plurality of memory banks; reading a first data from a first memory bank; reading coded data from one of the coding banks; and determining the second data according to the coded data and the first data.

Intelligent coded memory architecture with enhanced access scheduler

A platform through which companies that offer products bid to obtain an opportunity to provide a product to an end user expressing an intent in purchasing it. The user specifies a first data set defining a product he or she desires to buy, a designated time at or by which it is to be provided, and a value that the user is willing to pay. The platform receives a second data set from each of one or more vendors. Each such data set includes a range of prices that the respective vendor is willing to accept for its sale of the product, and a bid strategy. A bid process is then executed to generate a result that identifies at least one vendor, and a price within the range of prices originally offered by that vendor. The result is provided to the user, and a transaction may then be consummated.

Bidding engine for intention-based e-commerce among buyers and competing sellers

A method, wireless device and computer program product for expanding the coverage of a cellular network. A wireless device (e.g., cellular telephone) is able to communicate with a base station in a cell of the cellular network over a non-cellular interface via another wireless device in a cell through the use of multi-hopping. A wireless device may request permission to communicate with the base station over a non-cellular interface via hopping off another wireless device when its signal strength is below a threshold. Alternatively, a wireless device may receive a request to communicate with the base station over a non-cellular interface via hopping off the wireless device that sent the request when that wireless device has excess capacity in its bandwidth with the base station. By enabling wireless devices to communicate with a base station in such a manner, the effective capacity of the cellular network is expanded and the effective capacity of the cellular network is improved.

Wireless communication methods, systems, and computer program products

A method includes receiving a first request, from a first master core, to access data in one of a plurality of memory banks. It is determined whether an access to the data is stalled by virtue of a second request, from a second master core, to access the data in the one of the plurality of memory banks, the second request currently being serviced. In response to a determination that the access to the requested data is stalled, the first request is serviced by accessing data in one of a plurality of coding banks, each coding bank smaller in size than each memory bank.
