Examples of cloud-based provisioning of a computing system are disclosed. In an example, a baseboard management controller (BMC) of the computing system may be configured to establish a secure cloud provisioning connection between a cloud manager and the BMC. UEFI configuration may be received from the cloud manager over the secure cloud provisioning connection. A UEFI shell may be executed during a startup of the computing system initiated by the cloud manager. Based on the UEFI configuration, a provisioning proxy server communicatively coupled to a cloud repository may be identified. A startup script may be requested from the cloud repository over a network connection using a UEFI network stack. The startup script may download an image file via the provisioning proxy server from the cloud repository over the network connection and provision the computing system from the image file.

Consistent with the present disclosure, a block of software code or 'software code block' that is executed while particular tests are carried out is assigned a software code block identifier, which is associated with test identifiers, which, in turn, identify the tests that were performed. A system, apparatus and a method are described for providing efficient software distribution and cache management on a plurality of client machines in a network. In one embodiment of the invention, a cache management software agent is installed on one or more client machines to monitor a status of software versions stored locally on the machines. The cache management software agent performs a check before uploading a matching version of a large software application from a network element in order to determine whether the upload is appropriate. In particular, the agent identifies whether a matching version of the application is already present on the client machine to see if the upload is necessary. If a matching version of the application is not resident on the machine, then the latest version of the large software application is uploaded to the client machine from the network element.

Software distribution and cache management across client machines on a network

A system, apparatus and method are described for displaying multiple attributes relative to objects in a network management program. In one embodiment, multiple attributes from a plurality of different standards are coalesced together and the coalesced attributes are displayed by a user interface. These coalesced attributes may be shown in such a manner so that inconsistencies between attributes of objects from different standards are reduced or obviated.
