An example method for distance-dependent positioning of a user device (UE) performed by a location server, the method comprising: sending, to a transmission/reception point (TRP), a first configuration for distance-dependent position reference signal (PRS) resource sets, the distance-dependent PRS resource sets comprising at least: a first PRS resource set for positioning the UE when an estimated distance between the UE and the TRP is within a first range interval. The method also comprises determining the estimated distance between the UE and the TRP, sending, to the UE, a second configuration for determining PRS measurements based on at least one PRS resource set of the distance-dependent PRS resource sets at the TRP, the at least one PRS resource set corresponding to the estimated distance between the UE and the TRP, and receiving, from the UE, the PRS measurements; and determining the position of the UE based on the PRS measurements.

Distance-dependent position reference signal (PRS) configuration

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing beam selection. In one aspect, an initiating wireless device may determine whether a pre-grant acknowledgement associated with a first beam has been received from a responding wireless device within an expected receive time. The initiating wireless device may generate an indication to prevent the initiating wireless device from using the first beam for a blocking duration in response to determining that the pre-grant acknowledgement associated with the first beam has not been received within the expected receive time.

Managing beam selection

In some implementations, a base device may determine a quali-colocation (QCL) relation between a first wireless reference signal transmitted by a first sidelink (SL) anchor and a second wireless reference signal transmitted by a second SL anchor, wherein: the first SL anchor and the second SL anchor comprise UEs separate from the receiving UE, and the first wireless reference signal and the second wireless reference signal are transmitted for positioning of the receiving UE, performing radio frequency (RF) sensing, or both. The base device may wirelessly send, from the base device to the receiving UE, the mSL-QCL information, wherein the mSL-QCL information is indicative of the QCL relation between the first wireless reference signal and the second wireless reference signal.

Multi-anchor sidelink quasi-colocation indication and configuration for enhanced positioning and sensing

Wireless communications systems and methods related to accessing a channel based on an interference condition in a wireless communication network are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication performed by a wireless communications device may include receiving, from a second wireless communication device, one or more signals associated with a beam parameter, determining, at each of a plurality of locations, a signal measurement for at least one received signal of the one or more received signals, and determining, based at least in part on a cumulative distribution of the signal measurements at the plurality of locations and a reference probability distribution, whether the second wireless communication device satisfies an interference condition. Other features are also claimed and described.

Divergence statistical approach for narrow beam-based channel access

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include the user equipment (UE) receiving control signaling indicating a set of schemes for reporting an environmental state associated with the UE and measuring one or more channel characteristics according to a scheme of the set of schemes. Moreover, the UE may transmit a report indicating the environmental state associated with the UE based on measuring the one or more channel characteristics. A machine learning model implemented by the UE, a network entity, or both is based on the indicated environmental state associated with the UE.

Reporting environmental states of a user equipment

Multipath angle estimation and reporting for positioning is described. An apparatus is configured to receive a set of multipath signals for a set of VAs. Each VA in the set of VAs is associated with a corresponding reflecting surface in a UE communication environment. Reflection of the set of multipath signals occurs via the corresponding reflecting surface. The apparatus is configured to estimate at least one AoA associated with the set of multipath signals based on at least one of a set of ToF values associated with the set of multipath signals, a UE location, or a VA location. The apparatus is configured to provide, to a network entity, an indication of multipath information associated with the set of multipath signals for the set of VAs. The multipath information includes the at least one AoA associated with at least one multipath signal in the set of multipath signals.

Multipath angle estimation and reporting for NR positioning

Aspects presented herein may improve the efficiency, accuracy, and/or latency of a UE positioning procedure by enabling mobility analytics associated with a UE or a set of UEs to be exchanged between a location server and an NWDAF, either directly or via another network entity. In one aspect, a first network entity transmits a request for mobility data associated with a set of UEs, where the request for the mobility data is transmitted for a second network entity associated with mobility data analytics. The first network entity receives, based on the request, an indication of the mobility data associated with the set of UEs. The first network performs at least one location function for at least one UE in the set of UEs based on the indication of the mobility data.

Mobility analytics exchange between network entities

In an aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving first assistance data indicating a first set of network devices, wherein the first assistance data indicates that the first set of network device are to be used for obtaining radio frequency fingerprint positioning (RFFP) measurements during a model monitoring occasion in which performance of a positioning model is to be monitored; receiving second assistance data indicating a second set of network devices for obtaining a second set of RFFP measurements during a positioning occasion in which the performance of the positioning model is not monitored; and measuring position reference signals (PRS) of the first set of network devices during the model monitoring occasion.

Node configuration for positioning model monitoring

Methods performed by a network node includes obtaining a plurality of radio frequency fingerprint positioning (RFFP) measurements associated with known positioning parameters associated with a known location of a user equipment (UE) are described. Each RFFP measurement of the plurality of RFFP measurements is further associated with a transmission point configuration of a plurality of transmission point configurations; and training a positioning model to provide an estimate of one or more positioning parameters associated with a location of the UE. The training of the positioning model is based on the plurality of RFFP measurements, known positioning parameters associated with the known location, and the plurality of transmission point configurations.

Positioning model based on multiple transmission point and/or multiple bandwidth configurations

A robust random access response mechanism is disclosed. In various aspects of the disclosure, a user equipment (UE) initiates the random access connection procedure by transmitting a random access preamble to a base station. The base station may be configured to transmit a random access response message on any one or more of a plurality of transmission resources. The UE may then monitor each of the transmission resources for the random access response message from the base station. The UE may then establish the communication connection with the base station based on the random access response message.

Techniques are provide for neural network based positioning of a mobile device. An example method for measuring a channel in a wireless communication system includes: receiving reference signal information; determining one or more channel frequency responses based on the reference signal information and one or more timing hypotheses; determining one or more channel impulse responses comprising a channel impulse response for each of the one or more channel frequency responses; processing the one or more channel impulse responses with a neural network; and determining an output of the neural network.

Neural network based line of sight detection and angle estimation for positioning

Disclosed are various techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine a plurality of measurement gap (MG) configurations, each MG configuration defining one or more MGs. The UE may send, to a serving base station, a request to use a first MG configuration from the plurality of MG configurations, and may receive a response to the first request. The UE then measures positioning signals using an MG configuration indicated by the response. Based on measurements of the first set of positioning signals, the UE may select a second MG configuration, send a second request to use the second MG configuration, and receive a response to the second request. The UE then measures a second set of positioning signals using an MG configuration indicated by the response to the second request.

Dynamic configuration of measurement gaps

Positioning of one or more user equipments (UEs) is performed using broadcast common sounding reference signals (SRS) resources for positioning. The common SRS that is broadcast by a UE is received and measured by one or more base stations and one or more other UEs. The other UEs may have known positions and may server as anchor nodes for positioning. The other UEs may have known positions and may serve as a positioning (anchor) node or may have unknown positions and may be jointly positioned with the target UE. During joint positioning, each of the other UEs may similarly broadcast a common set of SRS that is received and measured by the base stations and other UEs for positioning. An angular measurement of the SRS broadcast by one or more UEs may be measured and used to resolve minor symmetry in positioning solutions.

Methods and apparatus for combined signaling for sidelink assisted positioning

In an embodiment, a serving BS of a UE may transmit a PDCCH communication to the UE. The PDCCH communication triggers a partial RACH procedure, whereby a RACH transmission is performed. In some designs, the RACH transmission is for positioning, and positioning measurements are performed at the serving BS and (optionally) at one or more non-serving BSs. In some designs, measurement data based on the positioning measurements are conveyed to a position estimation entity (e.g., LMF), which performs a positioning estimate of the UE.

Partial random access channel procedure

In an aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining that a positioning model error instance has occurred during a positioning occasion based on 1) a position uncertainty associated with a first position estimate satisfying positioning uncertainty error criteria, wherein the first position estimate is obtained during the positioning occasion by applying a first positioning model to radio frequency fingerprint (RFFP) measurements, 2) a positioning mismatch between the first position estimate of the UE and a second position estimate of the UE satisfying position mismatch error criteria, wherein the second position estimate of the UE is obtained during the positioning occasion by performing a positioning technique that does not use the first positioning model, or 3) any combination thereof; and determining that the first positioning model has failed based on a number of positioning model error instances satisfying positioning model failure criteria.
