Provided is a system and method that can safely generate and execute an outage plan for a power grid based on severe weather-driven events. In one example, the method may include receiving predicted or current operational power system state data from a power grid and weather conditions associated with the power grid, identifying one or more nodes on the power grid to de-energize based on the operational state data and the current weather conditions, determining a sequence of instructions to perform to de-energize the one or more identified nodes based on the operational state data and the current weather conditions associated with the power grid, and generating an outage plan including mitigation steps for ensuring the stability and security of the power grid which includes the determined sequence of instructions to be executed and store the outage plan in the memory.

Severe weather-driven large-scale outage management for emergency power grid

Provided is a system and method that can determine the timing and sequence of transmission assets on a power grid to be outaged and/or restored based on severe weather. In one example, the method may include selecting a group of transmission assets of a power grid for outage, receiving forecasted weather conditions for a geospatial area that includes the group of transmission assets, determining an outage time and priority among the group of transmission assets based on geospatial locations of the forecasted weather conditions and geospatial locations of the group of transmission assets, and generating a sequence of instructions for powering down the group of transmission assets based on the determined outage time and priority among the group of transmission assets and storing the sequence of instructions in memory.

Automated strategy planning for severe weather-driven proactive outage and restoration events in a power grid

This disclosure relates to systems and methods for real-time electrical power grid restorations. An example system may include a real-time monitoring module configured to acquire operational data associated with electrical grid components of an electrical grid. The system may further include a restoration manager module configured to detect, based on the operational data, one or more unplanned outages or other events in the electrical grid. In response to the detection, the restoration manager module can analyze the operational data to determine or select from a database a restoration plan. The restoration plan can include operations associated with commands for control devices, wherein the control devices are operable to control a power transmission between the electrical grid components. The restoration manager module can be further configured to execute the one or more operations of the restoration plan to restore the electrical power grid to a normal operational state.

Real-time electrical grid restoration

This disclosure relates to systems and methods for estimation of electrical grid parameters. An example system may include a data acquisition module configured to acquire electrical parameters. The electrical parameters can be measured at electrical components of the electrical grid. The electrical components may include at least one transmission line and at least one transformer. The system may include a parameter estimation module configured to analyze the electrical parameters to estimate impedance parameters associated with the electrical components and provide, via a user interface, at least one indication regarding the impedance parameters. The system may further include a line sagging detection module configured to estimate, based on the impedance parameters, at least one line sagging parameter indicative of sagging of the transmission line. The line sagging detection module can be further configured to output at least one indication regarding the sagging of the at least one transmission line.
