An exhaust mixer apparatus, emissions cleaning module, and a method of manufacturing the exhaust mixer apparatus is provided. The exhaust mixer apparatus comprises an exhaust conduit, a first exhaust mixer and a second exhaust mixer. The exhaust conduit is configured to extend in an elongate direction comprising an inlet and an outlet for transporting exhaust fluid. The first exhaust mixer comprises a plurality of elongate mixing blades each having a length extending in the elongate direction. Each elongate mixing blade comprising an outer edge extending in the elongate direction and blades are twisted along their lengths such that the outer edge is rotated about the elongate direction. The second exhaust mixer is configured to impart a swirl on an exhaust fluid and spaced apart from the first exhaust mixer in the exhaust conduit.

Exhaust mixer, emissions cleaning module and method of manufacture

A flow hood assembly for an engine aftertreatment system having a particulate filter and a selective catalytic reduction device is disclosed. An outer case defines a cavity, the outer case having an inlet and an outlet formed therein, and a neck section formed between the inlet and the outlet. A socket in the outer case is in an opposed relationship to the outlet and is shaped to receive an injector that introduces a reducing agent into the flow of exhaust gases. A baffle reduces a cross-sectional area of the cavity at the neck section to increase exhaust gas velocity at a sensor positioned at the neck section. A deflector member in the cavity between the baffle and the socket directs a portion of the exhaust gases towards the socket and across the injector nozzle.

Flow hood assembly

A flowhood assemblycomprises an injectorwhich is fixable to a mountin a number of alternative mounted positions defined by rotation of the injector about an injection axis Xrelative to the mount. The injectorincludes one or more coolant portswhich are connected in use to a supply of liquid coolant C. The mountis fixable to a flowhoodin an upright, design orientation and in alternative connected positions defined by rotation of the flowhoodrelative to the mountabout a connection axis X. In a normal use position of the assembly the connection axis Xof the flowhood is arranged at a predefined angle, optionally 0&#xb0;, relative to a nominal horizontal plane P. The injectoris not fixable to the mountother than in the alternative mounted positions. In use in the normal use position, and in each of the alternative mounted positions of the injector, the injection axis Xof the injector is oriented downwardly away from the injector relative to the horizontal plane P, and at least one of the coolant portsis arranged above the horizontal plane Pwhich passes through the injection axis Xat an outlet endof the nozzle.

Exhaust gas flowhood with treatment fluid injector and variable mounting angle

A pipe mixer for an aftertreatment system is described for mixing of a reductant and exhaust gas. The pipe mixer comprises a hollow body having a first end and a second end, the body surrounding a mixing channel; an injector mount positioned at the first end of the body; perforations provided on the body for entry of exhaust flow into the mixing channel; directional elements positioned on the body for directing exhaust flow towards the injector mount, the directional elements being positioned between the first end and the perforations wherein each directional element comprises an inlet formed on the body for entry of exhaust flow and a guide provided on an internal surface of the body, the guide having an outlet for exit of exhaust flow.
