It would be advantageous to reduce weight and size of high voltage power supplies, to increase frequency of pulses of high voltage, and to improve control of magnitude of high voltage. The embodiments of high voltage power supplies described herein can solve these problems. The high voltage power supply can be used with an x-ray tube. The high voltage power supply can comprise an array of planar transformers each defining a stage with an AC input and a DC output. Each stage can comprise a pair of flat, coil windings adjacent one another and including a primary winding electrically-coupled to the AC input and configured to induce a current in a secondary winding. At least two stages can be electrically-coupled together in series with the DC output of one stage electrically-coupled to an input of the other stage such that a voltage is amplified across the stages.

Planar transformer for an x-ray source

A material signature detector that provides for the assessment of changes in critical material properties of materials such as pharmaceuticals and solutions is disclosed. The material signature detector is non-contact and non-invasive and provides the ability to detect unintended changes in the contents of a vial or other container during the fill-finish process, transport, compounding, or storage. The material signature detector uses a novel resonant electrical impulse spectroscopy circuit that employs quadrature demodulation at lower frequencies to detect changes in the capacitance and conductance (resistance) of the sample under test. A series of digital signatures are created at different frequencies to provide an overall assessment of changes in the properties of the material under test. These digital signatures may in turn be stored in an electronic library for subsequent analytics.

System and method for non-contact assessment of changes in critical material properties

A digital radiography detector includes a housing having first and second spaced planar members and four side walls defining a cavity. A radiographic image detector assembly is mounted within the cavity for converting a radiographic image to an electronic radiographic image. The detector assembly includes a detector array mounted on a stiffener. A shock absorbing elastomer assembly is located within the cavity for absorbing shock to the detector array/stiffener in directions perpendicular to and parallel to the detector array/stiffener.

Compact and durable encasement for a digital radiography detector

A digital radiography detector includes a housing and a radiographic image detector assembly. The housing has a first and second spaced planar members and four side walls defining a cavity. The radiographic image detector assembly is mounted within the cavity for converting a radiographic image to an electronic radiographic image. The detector assembly includes a scintillator screen and a detector array, and the detector assembly is bonded to the first planar member of the housing.

A low noise digital radiography image capture system employs a two-dimensional array of pixel sites in the image capture panel with each site having an analog-to-digital converter to digitize analog charge values produced by imaging radiation directly into corresponding digital data at the site prior to read-out to subsequent digital data processing electronics thereby avoiding noise and crosstalk problems associated with high frequency read-out of analog information. Fill factor problems caused by inclusion of integrated circuitry on the pixel site are minimized by inclusion of the A/D counter on the opposite side of the substrate support for the pixel site.

Low noise image data capture for digital radiography

A method for delivering radiation therapy to a patient using a three-dimensional planning image for radiation therapy of the patient wherein the planning image includes a radiation therapy target. The method includes the steps of: determining desired image capture conditions for the capture of at least one two-dimensional radiographic image of the radiation therapy target using the three-dimensional planning image; detecting a position of the radiation therapy target in the at least one captured two-dimensional radiographic image; and determining a delivery of the radiation therapy in response to the radiation therapy target's detected position in the at least one captured two-dimensional radiographic image.

Radiation therapy method with target detection

A wireless X-ray detector for a digital radiography system with remote detection of impinging radiation from the system X-ray source onto a sensor panel having amorphous or crystalline silicon photodiodes or metal insulated semiconductor (MIS) sensors. Changes in current in the photodiode bias supply circuit is sensed to generate a signal indicating presence of radiation. Improved detection of X-ray cessation is achieved either by leaving at least one line of sensors connected between the bias supply circuit to a virtual ground during charge accumulation or by using an X-ray presence detector circuit that increases the sensitivity of the detector circuit to bias circuit current changes occurring after onset of the radiation.

Wireless X-ray detector for a digital radiography system with remote X-ray event detection

A wireless, independent digital imaging sensor utilizes an external charge balance capacitor to establish a sense voltage at a common node between the charge capacitor and the pixel intrinsic capacitors in the sensor panel. A variable width pulse train responds to the sense voltage to control injection of charge to the external capacitor to maintain a constant voltage at the common equal to a reference voltage. An increase in pulse width above a threshold level representative of the onset of X-ray exposure is detected to generate an output control signal used to control subsequent image acquisition functions of the imaging sensor.

X-ray impingement event detection system and method for a digital radiography detector

A defibrillator which contains a device for producing alternating voltage, a power factor controller for converting the alternating voltage to a direct voltage, and a device for converting the direct voltage into a biphasic waveform voltage. The defibrillator also contains a device for sensing the electrical activity of a human heart and for allowing one to hear an audio signal corresponding to such activity.

A high frequency video isolation circuit comprising: a modulating signal source for producing a modulating signal having a frequency of several hundred megahertz; an input multiplier for multiplying the modulating signal with an input video signal having frequency components in a frequency range from about several hertz to about one hundred or more megahertz, to produce a modulated video signal having frequency components in a frequency range from about one hundred megahertz to about several hundred megahertz; a first isolation transformer having an input and an output, for transforming the modulated video signal from the input to the output; and an output multiplier for multiplying the transformed modulated video signal with the modulating signal to produce an isolated output video signal having the frequency components of the input video signal.

Direct modulation method for laser diode in a laser film printer

Laser imaging apparatus includes a laser which produces a laser beam. An image media is scanned with a laser beam in a raster pattern to produce a scanned image. A photodetector converts the scanned image into an image signal. An amplifier amplifies the image signal and has varying gain. A control circuit controls the laser beam scanning device to scan image media of different sizes with laser beam raster patterns of different sizes. The control circuit includes detectors for detecting the size of the image media. The control circuit varies the gain of the amplifier as a function of the detected size of the scanned image media.

A technique for automatically setting a threshold current for a laser diode which has a linear laser operating region and a lower non-linear operating region. The laser diode is controlled (1) during a warm-up period during which no operating current is supplied to the laser diode, to allow the electronics and laser diode to stabilize; (2) during an initialization period, during which the current through the laser diode is brought up to a threshold operating point above said non-linear operating region and during which no image data is applied to the laser diode; and (3) during an operating period in which digital image data is applied to the laser diode to operate it in the linear laser operating region.
