A structural panel is provided that includes a first core structure and a second core structure. The second core structure includes a plurality of core components, which components includes a corrugated ribbon, a first wall and a second wall. The corrugated ribbon includes a plurality of baffles and a plurality of porous septums. The baffles and the porous septums are laterally between and connected to the first wall and the second wall. Each of the porous septums are longitudinally between a respective adjacent pair of the baffles. A first of the core components projects longitudinally into and/or along the first core structure at a splice joint between the first core structure and the second core structure.

An apparatus is provided for a vertical take-off and landing aircraft. The apparatus includes a rotor head with a rotor hub and a plurality of rotor blade attachment structures. The attachment structures are disposed about and extend radially out from the rotor hub. Each of the attachment structures may be configured from or otherwise include flexible matrix composite material. In addition or alternatively, the rotor head may be a monolithic bearingless rotor head.

A panel for attenuating noise includes a core having a first baffle, a second baffle, a first septum, a second septum and a stiffener. The core forms first and second cavities vertically between a first skin and a second skin, wherein the first and the second cavities are each fluidly coupled with perforations in the first skin. The first cavity is formed laterally between the first baffle and the second baffle and has a first cross-sectional geometry. The first septum is laterally between the first baffle and the second baffle and divides the first cavity into fluidly coupled sub-cavities. The second cavity is formed laterally between the second baffle and the stiffener and has a second cross-sectional geometry that is at least approximately identical to the first cross-sectional geometry. The second septum is laterally between the second baffle and the stiffener and divides the second cavity into fluidly coupled sub-cavities.

A composite driveshaft includes a body having a first end, a second end, and an intermediate portion defining a driveshaft axis (DSA). The first end defines a first coupling region and the second end defines a second coupling region. This panel includes a first skin, a second skin and a core forming a plurality of cavities vertically between the first skin and the second skin. The core may include a wall connected to and extending vertically between the first skin and the second skin. The wall may be laterally between and fluidly separate at least a first of the cavities from a second of the cavities. The wall may include a vertical stiffener. One or more perforations in the first skin may be fluidly coupled with the first of the cavities.

The core includes a first wall, a second wall, a first baffle, a second baffle and a first septum. The first septum is longitudinally between the first baffle and the second baffle and divides the first cavity into fluidly coupled sub-cavities. The first septum is angularly offset from the first wall by an acute angle. One or more perforations in the first skin are fluidly coupled with the first cavity.

A panel for attenuating noise includes a core, which forms a plurality of cavities vertically between a perforated first skin and a second skin. The core includes an array of corrugations that include a first baffle, a second baffle and a first septum. The cavities include a first cavity that is formed longitudinally between the first baffle and the second baffle and is fluidly coupled with perforations in the first skin. The first septum extends from the first skin and the first baffle to the second skin and the second baffle, and divides the first cavity into fluidly coupled sub-cavities. The first baffle includes a lateral array of baffle ribs. The first septum includes a lateral array of septum ribs that are laterally offset from the baffle ribs.

A nacelle may include a noise suppressing structure. The noise suppressing structure may utilize a noise suppressing cells situated between a perforated layer of material and a non-perforated layer of material. The noise suppressing cells may have a first portion and a second portion separated by a septum. The first portion may contact the septum at an obtuse angle and the second portion may contact the septum at a reflex angle.
