Methods and systems for improved integration of an overhead representation (e.g., a map) with a street view representation. A user interface with at least two regions is output for display to a user. One region includes an overhead representation of an area and an interactive control overlaid onto the overhead representation. Another region includes a street view perspective that has a point of view corresponding to a position and directional orientation of the interactive control. Information about a user input that adjusts the interactive control is received and the street view perspective is updated to track the control as it is adjusted. The field of view of the street view perspective may be reflected in the appearance of the interactive control. Additionally, the street view perspective may follow the location of a marker as it is moved around the overhead representation.

Integrating maps and street views

An apparatus provides street-level images that include entertainment information. The apparatus may include a memory that stores at least one street-level image that includes a sign for displaying entertainment information. The sign may be located anywhere in the street-level image and the apparatus may be operative to identify a geometric shape associated with the sign. The geometric shape may define where entertainment information is to be displayed. Moreover, the apparatus may be operative to define different regions within the geometric shape such that the different regions display different types of entertainment information. Moreover, the entertainment information may be selectable by a user such that selection of the entertainment information displays a graphic, audiovisual file, or other media to the user regarding the selected entertainment information.

Displaying dynamic entertainment information on marquees in street-level imagery

One or more interactive controls are displayed on an online map that allow a user to provide attributes about a photograph including the location from which the photograph was taken and the location of the subject in the photograph. The system receives the input and stores the information as associated with the photograph.
