A method for heating a door guide area includes: channeling a flow of heated air in a longitudinal first direction in a first conduit; channeling the flow of heated air in a longitudinal second direction different than the first direction in a second conduit; providing heated air to the second and first conduits by routing the heated air directly from a heater laterally across the first conduit to the second conduit; transferring heat from the flow of heated air in the second conduit to a heated space outside of the first and second conduits; and configuring a side portion of a roll-up door to be in the heated space when the roll-up door is in a closed position.

Rolling door guide area heating method and system

A system for heating a door guide area includes: a first and second conduit for channeling a flow of heated air; a heater fluidly connected to the first conduit and configured to provide air to the first and second conduits; first and second openings providing fluid communication between the first and second conduits to allow the air to circulate through the first and second conduits; a heat transfer wall part of the second conduit, to transfer heat from the flow of heated air in the second direction to a space outside of the second conduit that is defined, in part, by the heat transfer wall; and two side supports connected to the heat transfer wall, the side supports located opposing each other and dimensioned and located along with the heat transfer wall to form three sides to encompass a portion of a roll-up door.

A high speed roll door is movable between an open and a closed position at an opening of a building. The door includes a flexible curtain and a pair of side columns. Each side column provides an inner track to guide the curtain in vertical movement and restrain the curtain from lateral movement during deployment and retraction. The curtain further includes multiple cross bars supporting the flexible curtain from one of the pair of side columns to the other. Each of the cross bars further includes a first longitudinal bar sandwiching part of the curtain; and a second longitudinal bar pivotally connected to the first longitudinal bar. The hinge has an axis of rotation parallel to the first and the second longitudinal bars. At least a wheel is rotatably affixed to each end of the second longitudinal bar to engage the inner track of each of the side columns.

Low friction high speed roll door at high wind loads

A break-out door sensor system is provided. In one aspect, the system includes: a door; a sensor located on the door; a trigger connected to the door and located proximate to the sensor and configured to move to an actuating position, and when in the actuating position, the trigger contacts the sensor causing the sensor to emit a signal, the trigger being biased away from the actuating position; and a camming surface on the trigger, wherein dimensions of the trigger and the trigger's location on the door with respect to the sensor including the location and dimensions of the camming surface are selected to cause the trigger to move to the actuating position when the camming surface moves against door guide forming a channel and the trigger moves out of the channel.
