A network node comprising an input, a processor and an output, the processor being coupled to the input and the output; the input and output both being connected to at least one network; in which the processor is arranged so as to receive from the input an executable application and an associated set of requirements for the application, in which the processor is arranged to determine, on receipt of an application and the associated set of requirements, a set of destination network nodes which are reachable through at least one network, to which the output is connected based upon the requirements and to send the application to the destination nodes through the output. Thus, an application can be distributed through a telecommunications network specifying only the requirements that a destination network must satisfy, rather than the addresses of the destination network nodes. Furthermore, the application can be transferred between network nodes should user equipment move through the network.

Distributing an application via a network node

The present invention relates to a method for distribution of information in a primary cellular network. At least one second network or at least one second entity is using a User Equipment (UE) for forwarding information between the second network or entity and a service provider, wherein the second network or entity provides the UE with information about its properties. The method comprises the steps of: (1) the UE sending a first message to a third entity in a third network to inform about the location and properties of the UE, (2) the first message being such that it triggers the third entity to send system information to the UE. What particularly characterizes the method is that the UE sendssecondary data in the first message to the third entity, said secondary data comprising information about the properties of the second network or entity.

Method for distribution of information of networks or entities using UE as gateway

Data stored about user equipment, such as mobile phones, that is stored in a Home Location Register of a cellular voice network communications system, is augmented with supplemental information and is communicated to an active user in the network upon request emanating from a Visitor Location Register with which the requesting user is associated. Supplemental characteristic information includes, for example, the function, position, rank, responsibility level, etc., that each user has, and what group the user is affiliated with. The user may also use shortcodes to choose which other user to call based on that user's supplemental characteristic information.

System and method for using subscriber role information in a mobile communication system

Data stored about user equipment, such as mobile phones, that is stored in a Home Location Register of at least one wireless, cellular voice network communications system configured, for example, as a 3G network deployment, is augmented with supplemental information and is communicated automatically to active users in the network. The invention is particularly advantageous for mobile systems that are deployable where normal networks have been disrupted, such as among emergency personnel who need to communicate and cooperate as a group at a disaster scene. Arrangements and method relating to communication bearers

The invention relates to techniques for controlling a pre-fetching of data in a mobile communications environment. More specifically the invention relates to controlling a pre-fetching of data items into a cache associated with a mobile terminal. A method embodiment of the invention is performed by a cache management server and comprises the steps of receiving a pre-fetching request for data items, wherein the pre-fetching request comprises a first user identification associated with the mobile terminal; obtaining, based on the first user identification, one or more second user identifications from a community database of a social network; selecting items for the pre-fetching based on the second user identifications; and providing the selected items in response to the pre-fetching request.

The invention refers to a method for use by a first node in an ad-hoc WLAN, which first node maintains a table of other nodes within the network which can be used for forwarding messages. The method comprises the step of letting the first node receive a first signal from a second node, and additionally comprises the steps of: -letting the first node analyse the signal received from the second signal, -if the second node is already present in the table maintained by the first node, the signal strength is compared to a first predetermined comparison level, -if the second node is not present in the table, its signal strength is compared to a second predetermined comparison level, -if the signal strength from the second node exceeds the relevant comparison level, the first node decides that the second node may be used in the table.
